tl;dr HP EliteDesk minis that did not come with wifi antennas pre-installed don't seem to have the correct holes cut in the metal housing to mount these wifi antenas to. So, you can't really get this to upgrade your non-wifi EliteDesk to a wifi EliteDesk. Learned this the hard way. Not a knock against seller or product, just a "trial-by-error" discovery I made. The long version...Bought a refurb HP EliteDesk 800 G3 mini off Amazon. Thing is fantastic. But, it came with a wifi usb dongle; didn't have internal wifi. It has the M2 A/E key sockets for the WLAN wifi board. So, I thought I could just buy the wifi antennas, and wire-up internal wifi myself. After receiving product, followed HP's own youtube video showing how to tear-down and replace wifi antennas. That's when I made 2 awkward discoveries.1) my non-internal-wifi version seems to have the mobo glued to the case. I removed all boards, heatsink, cpu, screws, etc like the video showed. But, I couldn't easily pull the mobo out to reveal bottom inside of case. Did some light prying and checked for any missed screws, and best I can determine is the mobo is glued in-place for some reason. This means it's impossible to remove the mobo to route antenna wires underneath like you should anyways.2) I thought maybe I could route the antenna wires above the mobo... over a few ports and things. But, when test-fitting the black antenna blocks to the spots they should go, I realized the metal case housing does not have the proper holes/slots cut to do so. EG: the one antenna block that mounts below the speaker on the front-left.. there's no hole drilled under the speaker to let the antenna block get screwed into place. The antenna block for the back just doesn't fit period; the slots and holes are misaligned to it.So, if you're EliteDesk mini didn't come with wifi internals pre-installed, it seems you can't simply buy a kit like this to upgrade it. This is totally on HP, not on the seller. If you're REALLY ambitious, and want to break out a drill or something to start cutting holes in your EliteDesk mini case, then maybe you can hack it together. But, I'm not doing that.I'm not returning the product. This was me paying to learn a lesson. I can probably re-use the WLAN card in another project, and might be able to use the antennas for another project, too.So, this review is just fair warning to folks thinking they can upgrade their non-wifi EliteDesks. If the seller could update the store page to make that clear, it might save some folks some "oh no" moments.
