A bit fiddly to use sometimes as the Bluetooth seems to disconnect so you have to close the app and open again. Apart from that is a good item

I ordered this smart measuring tape because it promised to be easier than using a standard tape.Firstly, I had to load the app from the App Store and this was pretty straightforward. Connecting the device was more difficult and the enclosed instructions aren’t very helpful. I managed it in the end.Once connected, I was prompted to take my various body measurements. This wasn’t much easier than using a standard tape - you still have to hold the end accurately against the edge of the device for it to get a good measurement. This is trickier than it should be as the end of the tape is difficult to pick out of the device once retracted and also hard to get in the right place. Saying that, I can then let go of the tape to press the button to submit the measurement to the app and this happens straight away before moving onto the next measurement.Once all the measurements are taken, I couldn’t find out how to see them in the app. It isn’t very user friendly - by tapping around the various settings I stumbled across ‘Manage Cards’ on the Health screen and this is where I had to select ‘circumference’ to find the measurements.Other ‘cards’ include Scale, Height Ruler, Jump Rope and Kitchen Scale. I’m not sure what these other things are!There is also the ability to use the measuring tape for straight or circumference measurements - the instructions say that there is a difference in the actual measurements taken when you use the tape but I couldn’t understand this.I wasn’t sure whether to score it as 3 stars because of the difficulties is using it and confusion around the app and measurement types, but I have given it four stars as essentially it does do the job.

The tape measure was easy to use straight away. You pull out the little tab and the digital display gives you a reading (which is also shown on the tape itself, like a normal dressmaking measure).However, the app was a bit of a pain in my opinion - first it took an age to connect the device even though bluetooth was on for my phone. I got it to connect in the end and set up a profile, then it wants to run you through a series of measurements to determine your body type, including many I have no interest in (like head/neck sizes, arm length etc which is still pretty hard to do on your own!).I tried to skip those and just measure waist and hips and it skipped on to 'arms' before I had saved the hips measurement. I couldn't see any way to delete a measurement once the app had decided that was it - I pulled the tape out and let it go back to zero while the same setting was still highlighted, but it reverted to the last one and wouldn't go back to zero.I started to lose patience as it just didn't seem to work well and/or offer the flexibility of deciding which bits you wanted to focus on, so I gave up with the app.I'm sure the knowing among us will know of another app it will work better with, as it connects with bluetooth and I'm sure you can get it working with your app of choice, however I'll just keep it as a digital tape measure for now.The device itself is fine! It's easy to get a reading so it's still handy, and in itself seems pretty well made - retracts when the button is pressed etc.

I recently had the chance to try out the Bisonbody Smart Body Measuring Tape, following my positive experience with the brand’s body scales that I reviewed recently. Already familiar with the brand and their technology, I was intrigued to see how this smart tape measure would improve my health and fitness tracking.Having the Fitdays app already installed from my previous Bisonbody product, adding the smart tape measure was easy. The process of 'adding a device' was straightforward, syncing with no technical glitches.The first thing I noticed about this smart tape measure was its ease of use. The tape measure, with its digital display, provided instant readouts of the measurements, making the process much simpler and more accurate than me trying to do it manually.I found the tape measure's versatility impressive. It's capable of measuring nine different body parts - a comprehensive range that covers everything from head and neck to calves. The accuracy of the measurements was spot on, as I checked with my usual tape afterwards.The design is also well thought out. The hook and lock feature allowed me to measure my body circumferences single-handedly, which is a significant improvement over my current tape. The build quality felt durable, giving me confidence that this device can withstand regular use.Also worth mentioning are the measuring modes (circumference and straight length) and the ability to switch between centimetres and inches. But the best feature is the smart app integration. The tape automatically sent the measurements to the Fitdays app, where they were not only recorded but also visualized in trends. I am really looking forward to using this alongside the scales.Overall, I am very impressed with this product. 5/5
