This slim night latch is used with inside-swinging entry doors. When engaged it securely blocks the door from opening. To disengage it, you pull the hinged part away from the door jamb in a motion parallel to the surface of the door, and then swing it out of the way!It comes with long screws so that it becomes secured to wooden wall framing beyond the door jamb itself.This is for a quite different purpose than door chains etc., which are used to securely open a door a few inches so that you can verify who is at the door, or exchange a few words. This device is to keep the door very securely shut.We feel much safer now that this is installed!

My son had been unlocking the front door as soon as he figured out he could do it. I live alone with 2 kids and not only did this provide comfort and security, but it keeps my kids from escaping 😅Super easy to install btw

This lock was easy to install on a door that didn't have any locks. Saved so much time and money. Extra screws were a plus. I tried pushing the door after and it was stable and secure. Fits about any door as my door is very hard to find a proper lock for since the wall and door don't align. Great product overall. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for extra security in their homes!

This bronze colored door lock is very sturdy and good looking. We installed it on our Dometic RV 5 cubic ft refrigerator door after a very messy spill caused by the main refrigerator latch not holding over a bumpy road. The refrigerator door flew open dumping food all over the floor and we did not catch the problem for several hours until we camped that night. Our RV refrigerator has a recessed door with a gap of about 1/4 inch between the door and the refrigerator door frame which made for an easy 10 minute install. Lock is easy to unlock-just slide it sideways and pull it out and away from the refrigerator door. It's also easy to tell when it's locked and it would be virtually impossible for the refrigerator door to open with the lock latched.
