I was hoping to save some money by getting a refurbished mic arm. This one looked cool so I tried it out. Unfortunately, it does not work as a boom arm. The tension in the spring is too high so it always goes up on its own even with weights. Yes, I have tried to reduce the tension by loosening the screw on the bottom. This does not work, there is no trick, it is simply broken. This is most likely why people have returned it, yet somehow Amazon resells them thinking they are possible to use.This boom arm is impossible to position as intended. Don't waste your time.

Build quality is amazing, value for quality you can't beat. No noise comes from this arm. Very functional can pretty much move everywhere. Also the the arm is easy to setup.

Feels premium in terms of material, a bit stiff to work with, and a bit expensive.Unnecessary if you aren’t using a heavier mic, but overall good quality.

Bought to replace a cheaper boom arm I’d been using for over 3 years that was pretty poorly constructed and always squeaked when moved.This arm is much sturdier and built with much better materials - though the plastic used at the joints is somewhat frail and can see them breaking if over-tightened. Still though - it’s smooth and quiet when making any adjustments to mic placement. The built-in cable management is a nice plus that helps keep things looking clean. I noticed that just like other reviewers mention, this arm requires you to mount a heavier mic as without one it will begin to rise due to the high spring tension. This was not an issue though with my Yeti classic and Logitech shock mount combo, though. Thankfully, it stays in place until I move it.

I use a Blue Ember XLR Condensor Microphone, the arm is a little stronger so sometimes the microphone will not sit exactly where I want it to. It will slowly float up and away sometimes. But if you are using a heavier microphone it will probably work great.
