We are adopting a Heeler Mix rescue pup. I’ve had dogs at least half of my life, but never did any serious training. The techniques described make perfect sense. I will update the review in another year to report on how they worked in practice.The training materials (I assume) could apply to any breed, but he does address specific issues unique to Heelers like nipping at the heels to herd.He also provides excellent details specific to the breed including health risks and proper diet.There are also references in the book for a free download of a Dog Training specific book, and also to a support website.Overall, a very detailed guide for preparing for and eventually training our new Blue Heeler mix rescue!

With the exception of the Bluee on the cover, there isn't a whole lot of information that is specific to actually training a heeler! Lots of "dog" training tips, but again, not a lot of breed specifics. Spends more time promoting other products than addressing breed issues/concerns.
