Warning to other woodwind players: This is NOT designed to work for a flute at all. This swab is too thick and big to fit through a flute's bore. I bought this as a Bb soprano clarinet player hoping it would fit through my instrument, but the rounded end, which is specifically designed to help clean an alto saxophone's wide bell, gets stuck in a clarinet. That being said, I was able to easily remove the round piece and attached string. The resulting swab works well for my purposes. It's two pieces of microfiber cloth sewn together in the middle. The string is a bit wider than a standard shoelace and has a good sized cylindrical weight sewn into the end. I like this cleaning cloth from a material standpoint. Two things keep my from giving this a 5 star review:First, one of the two pull strings has a substantial manufacturing defect. It looks like the material its made from was knotted at some point during the process and simply sewn over. Thankfully, this is on the end I removed to use it for my clarinet, so it isn't a huge problem, however....The second reason I am giving this 3 starts is the fact that the item's description is misleading. This is NOT designed for clarinets or flutes. This is a saxophone cleaning cloth. It would likely work for larger clarinets (alto and larger), but not what most people play.That being said, if you play alto sax, a lower clarinet, or are like me and willing to remove the circular section, the cloth is perfect for spit removal. The microfiber is far more absorbent than standard silk or cotton and more durable than felt.

Misleading description. Advertised for use in clarinet but only goes in enough to get completely stuck to the point that it is very hard not to damage clarinet trying to get it out. Also advertised for flute, which it could not fit. Perhaps would fit much larger instruments, but even saxophones have narrow necks and after the misrepresentation regarding clarinet and flute would not trust this product for any instrument.
