I’ve been getting more into pour-over coffee, and this setup makes the whole process feel kinda… therapeutic? There’s something satisfying about taking a few extra minutes to grind your own beans and brew a cup instead of just pressing a button. And the best part? The coffee actually tastes better—smoother, more complex, less acidic, and less bitter. The stainless steel filter is a nice touch since I don’t want to deal with paper filters and having to restock. Plus, the glass carafe looks sleek on my counter and feels sturdy enough to last. The cork band is a nice detail too—functional but also gives it a little style. I got the 34 oz carafe and that's enough to make 4 cups to share with friends or 2-3 cups for my tumbler before I hit the road.Only downside? Since it’s a single-wall glass, the coffee doesn’t stay hot for long. Not a dealbreaker, but if you’re the type to sip slowly, you might want to pour it into a thermos. Overall, though, it’s an awesome way to make coffee that actually feels like a ritual instead of just a routine.

I gave it 5 stars, but I had to tweak things a little. Overall it meets the needs and makes great coffee, but here is what I did to make the coffee to my liking. I am using a #4 filter simply because when a filter is not used it's exactly like French Press coffee. The filter removed the oils, and more importantly, eliminated the sediment. No matter how carefully I ground it, the sediment is part of the deal, and the filter solved that.To those who commented on how quickly it cools down, here is your simple solution - put the freshly brewed coffee pot on a coffee warmer/mug warmer plate and you can change the temperature to your liking. It's just like a drip coffee pot sitting on a warming plate, but by using this Bodum coffeemaker you eliminate plastics.I've tried every coffee maker you can name, both drip and pour over, so a coffee snob I am! I had a Chemex for a while, which is basically the same concept, only the filters are very large and an eco waste in my opinion. The Hario pour over works well too, but I like this Bodum better. The only gripe is that the cork around the neck of the Bodum is at first slippery and not easy to hold with one hand to pour, but I've noticed it becoming easier to handle with each use. This one is a keeper in my opinion.

We absolutely love it! First off the driver actually ran down our long driveway that goes downhill in 4-in snow to deliver it. What an awesome driver, when they could have just driven right by or thrown it at the top of our driveway as others have done. Second, this is really easy to use and I absolutely love it. The coffee came out tasting so much better than it does in that ridiculous drip coffee maker. Poor slow, to no overflow filter. But you will have to stop several times and keep adding more water as it goes down. You need patience for this because it takes quite a bit of time. But the end game is completely worth it. I wanted to show that my hand, as a medium-sized hand woman, is able to get all my fingers on the cork. Another reviewer had complained that she could not but she was not even trying from her picture. Of course it's not going to be perfect for everyone and yes the glass gets hot. To make that perfect cup or more of coffee, your water temperature should be between 195 to 205°. Do not go any higher as your coffee could taste burnt.I have not tried it with a filter yet, but I will. Being somebody who has high LDL it is recommended that we paper filter our coffee as there are kahweal and safestol in coffee beans that can be filtered out with a paper filter. This is true for me because we used to have a coffee grinder pot that did not use paper filters and once I stopped using it at the recommendation from my doctor, my cholesterol went down by 10%.Lastly another reviewer was not sure about the little plastic piece that comes to put in the top to pour your coffee. She was afraid it was going to break the glass. Hot glass is not going to break as easy as cold glass. And if you ever so carefully put it in there like I did you're completely fine. It actually slides in very easy due to the Steam on the glass.

Makes great coffee, extremely simple and easy to clean. The metal filter works well, and is compatible with #4 paper filters. Zero microplastics and nanoplastics (yes the rim of the filter is plastic, but the water doesnt contact this at all during coffee making.capacity for me is about 3 mugs of coffee, so a bit smaller than a standard drip coffee maker, but still plenty.we did a blind taste test against the drip maker and preferred the taste and richness of the coffee from this product better.

9/17/24 update: Apparently the vendor read my message complaining about the fact that I cannot use the upgraded filter they had included in the first Bodum Pour Over Coffee Maker they sent me and so they sent me another unit which includes the old coffee filter along with another carafe. I'm blown away by their professionalism and concern about providing great service. They sent me a second Bodum Pour Over Coffee Maker, but this one includes the original coffee filter, just like my original one. WOW! Great Customer Service!9/15/24 update: I reduced the rating one star because I recalled a main reason I stopped using the fine mesh stainless filter I purchased separately after I bought my first Bodum Pour Over Coffee Maker. We are on a septic system and coffee grounds should not be deposited into a septic tank, and so it is imperative that I always filter coffee grounds through a paper filter so I can minimize the amount of grounds that get past the filter and into the drain, and the current "upgraded" version comes with a filter system that precludes that possibility. I'm just thankful that I still have the original coffee filter which fits a number 4 cone filter and will use that filter exclusively moving forward. Replacing it currently costs about an additional $10.Previous comments- I love the glass carafe. I am a second time buyer whose previous carafe recently broke. The reason for my low rating is, the supposed upgrade stainless filter, does not do a very good job filtering out grounds from store bought pre-ground coffee, and there are no #4 size or larger paper filters that I have been able to find, that fit the included stainless filter. The previous version came with a filter into which I could place a standard #4 paper cone filter. The only reason I'm not returning this version is I still have the filter that came with my first Bodum Carafe. It's drawback is that it uses a fair amount of plastic which comes into contact with the coffee, which kind of defeats much of the purpose for using a glass carafe instead of a much more convenient and less expensive Mr. Coffee electric coffee maker which, in my experience, makes a very tasty cup of coffee if you folliow their instructions.I also have another fully stainless filter I purchased previously for the earlier version and it, fortunately, does a better job filtering out coffee grounds than the one included with this unit. I recently became more disciplined about only drinking one 6 ounce cup of regular coffee per day, and have started using the third party stainless filter when I make my daily cup of coffee.Whenever I make 12 ounces of Thai Tea, however, I use the original "plasticy" filter with a #4 paper filter to gather the Thai Tea remnants. The filter that came with this unit is simply gathering dust.
