We all have a ton of papers and documents that we need to keep safe. Think about birth certificates, passports, Wills, etc. It is so important to keep these items safe. We always think that "nothing will ever happen", but my concern has always been WHAT IF. What if our house catches on fire, what will be saved? That's why I got this as a protective tool to help me with my important papers.It is really important to note that while the bag is a bit water resistant from splashes and so on, but it is not safe from a deep soaking. Because the bag can withstand 2000°F, it can protect important documents from a house fire. I have put my important papers inside, then told my children where they can find bag in case of any disaster. I think they would be excellent for jewelry and other valuables. This would be a really good money bag as well - for business owners to transport back and forth to the bank.Overall, I give this a 5 star review. I like the reflective strap at the top of the envelope so you can find it easily. I like that the envelope could be stored flat in a fireproof box or a file cabinet for additional safety.

I was impressed with the weight and feel of this bag and was pretty sure it would live up to its claim of being waterproof. But I wanted to test it to make sure. And it was. I'm impressed. I didn't, however, try to set it on fire. But as durable as the bag is, I believe it would be fireproof, as it claims. I also love the wide reflective band on the top so if there ever was a fire, it will be easier to find.

I decided to test this bag with unimportant paper inside before putting in any irreplaceable valuables, and it's definitely not waterproof. In a house fire, many belongings will be drenched by firefighters' hoses, and letting water run in the sink for a minute or so, with this fully closed up, suggests the contents would not remain dry for long. Water got in NOT through the zipped-closed and velcro-closed end, but through the corners.The construction of this bag does seem solid other than that. The velcro-style closure and zippers seem adequate. The size is great for lots of papers.Is it fireproof? I don't know. I don't feel as comfortable testing that as I did the waterproof claim!
