I’ve bought 3 sets of these over time. They are sturdy and support large heavy books. They have excellent grip so they don’t slide around on the bookshelf.

Heavy, thick metal used plus robust rubber feet adhered with large swaths of glue.In a few days I will buy two more sets.

These bookends are just as described - not flimsy, no sharp or unfinished edges, attractive on the bookshelf, with furniture protection spots on the bottom. Best of several pairs of bookends I've purchased on Amazon. I liked them so much I bought another pair!

I didn’t know it was possible to make bookends this good. I use them on an open shelf where I keep my photo reference books, ranging from classic coffee table books like Humans and The Travel Book to how to make art like Everyday Watercolor and The Lost Art of Handwriting, and they don’t fall. Ever. It doesn’t matter how many books I take out, how uneven the weight distribution is, how many giant bricks of hardcover books I shove in, they stay in place. Period. I’ve tried other bookends with no luck, and I was starting to think it wasn’t possible and my wife was right after all and I’d sacrificed valuable storage space to the aesthetics of an open bookcase, but no! Not only are these the sturdiest, least-slippery, most hardcore bookends I’ve ever used, they’re also super cute. I couldn’t be happier or more impressed, and will definitely get more if I ever need more.Tldr; BEST STURDIEST CUTEST BOOKENDS EVER BUY THEM
