I'm familiar with Bose, but not familiar with their current advertising campaigns. There was a time when they oversold themselves and left my family disappointed.Now, we know the product and we know how good it is. The Wave Music System III is not going to fill a Great Room, but we're not asking it to do that. Therefore, the way I titled this review.CDs and radio both give robust sound and the radio tunes easily, holding its stations. We'll see if the CD base holds up. (We have an older Bose radio whose changer did not last as long as I think it should have; on the other hand, the radio continues to go strong.)I don't mean to be meager in my praise of Bose, but I think it essential that potential buyers know what they are buying. In its class this is a superior product, pricey but worth the price.I would recommend this product to family and friends.

Zero. This is piece of junk! Nine months later it is not working right. I can not return it for a refund! I am stuck with a piece of junk that cost me $800.00! Crap! Pure Crap! After three phone calls, I reached a tech person at Bose who was very helpful. However, the Amazon order number was not in their system when I talked to the first person so my purchase didn't exist to Bose. I sent the multi-changer part of the system back. It cost me $19.00 dollars to ship it back and now I will probably have to wait 2-3 weeks for the repairs to be made and the shipping time until I have the system again. Other then the tech guy, the whole message from Amazon and Bose has been "tough luck." You decide how you would feel after spending $800.00 and having road blocks all the way. Also, I had no choice in the return process. I wanted my money back. Not possible. Neither Amazon or Bose would give me that option. My advice is to purchase your system locally and be very careful about reading the information about how long the guarantee covers these kinds of incidents. Even if you are not sure if the system is working correctly--take it back and get a refund in full and go some place else and purchase another brand.It came back and two weeks later it stopped working. Both the top and bottom units do NOT work. The CD changer on the bottom unit does NOT work and about two hours into use, you are stuck with a very expensive piece of JUNK. The sound is OK but not what Bose claims it to be. You will be very sorry after you buy this product. Remember, you are NOT paying for any quality but for all the expensive advertising that Bose does to sell this junk. If you think Bose can take millions of dollars of magazine ads out in major publications and not pass that expense on to the buyer--then go ahead buy it. The net is filled with other products that are 1/3 or less the cost and have better sound. ZERO!!!

i had a $99.00 Emerson CD, am/fm radio, cassette tape player. It broke...my fault...the cheap player had great sound, and it could play 5 c/ds and the shuffle worked on all c/ds ...i could set it up to shuffle all five c/ds...this BOSE player can shuffle only one c/d at a time ...you would think for almost $800.00 it could do what my cheapy player could do !

This is our second Bose Wave system, the first ne was the original Bose Wave. We had it in our home for a long time and decided to upgrade to the System II and bring our old one to our summer home. In addition to CDs and the one public radio station available, we have connected the first Bose to Sirius Radio, which works surprisingly sell most of the time. The signals here at at the edge of Sirius reception.We love both of our Bose Waves, the sound is great. We have had a number of big heavy radio/CD/audio tape system and they have all died.. This system is tough, looks good, sounds great. We conne3ct it to radio, CD, Sirius and iPods...all work welll

Ordered the sys. III plus cd-changer 'used' from blue_kanga. Had no idea that I would not be able to use the cd-changer without the update disc. This info would have been helpful deciding wether or not to buy a used item. Tried to find out if I could purchase the disc and that correspondence came to no fruition. Why doesn't anyone mention that the multi-cd changer is not going to work without updating the radio? Finally decided to return the entire system. Don't know if I want to reorder!
