Frame – Diecast Aluminum
There are a couple of advantages of die-casting over stamping speaker frames. One of the more noticeable differences is the fact that a die-cast frame has better resonant frequencies. This means that the frame is able to absorb and transfer much of the energy produced by the speaker, rather than vibrating like a bell would when it is stricken. A die-cast frame is more durable and harder to damage or break, and it has high dimensional stability for complex shapes, good corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, high thermal and electrical conductivity, and retains strength at high temperatures.
Surround – RubberRubber is a synthetic material and is valued for its chemical inertness, impermeability to air, and the ability to endure or resist exposure to the many types of weather fronts. Rubber has applications from sports equipment to automotive parts, the medical industry, and more. We use it for the surrounds that connect the cone to the basket. Just as chewing gum uses food-grade butyl rubber as the central gum base, which contributes not only the gum's elasticity but an obstinate, sticky quality, the butyl rubber surround in our speakers can take the equivalent amount of abuse without quitting.
Cone – Electroplate InjectionElectroplating is primarily used to change the surface properties of metallic or metal objects, for example, abrasion and wear resistance, corrosion protection, lubricity, and aesthetic qualities. Similar benefits can be obtained by applying a thin layer of electroplated film to our cones for great sounding speakers that will last you a long time.
Midrange – MylarMylar is a special type of stretched polyester film/plastic sheet manufactured in a range of different styles, finishes, and thicknesses. Generally, the Mylar midrange is a step up from some other materials, primarily because of improved sound dispersion. Since high-frequency sound waves are very directional, a wider dispersion of the sound waves will give you a larger "sweet spot" to work with when setting up your system.
Voice Coil – AluminumOur speakers are capable of higher or elevated temperature strength and fatigue properties that will increase performance and efficiency of heavy duty play time through lower weight and higher operating temperatures.
Tweeter – PiezoPiezoelectric tweeters have several advantages over conventional tweeters. They are resistant to overloads that would normally destroy most high frequency drivers, and they can be used without a crossover due to their electrical properties. The active element is basically a piece of polarized material .
