Don't let the Braun brand name fool you. This is utter trash. I bought one while recovering from flu because I didn't trust a cheaper no-touch thermometer that I had for a couple of years. This new thermometer continued to show occasional "fevers" in excess of 100 degrees when the other no-touch thermometer showed 97.7. An older oral thermometer read 98.3. Just in case the oral thermometer was bad, I bought a new Vick's oral thermometer which confirmed that my cheaper no-touch thermometer was much closer to reality. This product should be pulled.

It's easy to use (for most people) and the color code helps. Measuring forehead temperature can be affected by the environment. It'll be inaccurate if the distance is wrong or the forehead/body was just exposed to outdoor cold/warm temperature. Make sure to stay in a temperature stable/comfortable indoor environment at least for a while before the measurement.It may not be convenient for seniors to check temperature for themselves. The no touch part is actually challenging as they may have trouble positioning/holding it steady in front of the forehead for just a few seconds. An in-ear thermometer would be easier to guide (rest in the ear) for them and reading will almost always be accurate (unlikely affected by environment).Have to say it's more fun to use it (for me) than an in-ear thermometer and it adds versatility with the capability of measuring water/liquid temperature.
