Get the 22". Although the 21 was able to fit all I needed, I wish I got the 22. Great quality and worth the premium price.

I bought this suitcase for international travel. Overall it’s an okay suitcase. Unfortunately it has some flaws, but they may are may not be dealbreakers for you.Pros:Spacious for its small size is. Spins with ease and is easy to roll through the airport. I like the pocket dump/catch all zipper pocket on the front. It makes getting through security a breeze. The internal pockets are nice and the big front pocket makes it easy to stow a jacket away if needed. The 800D nylon exterior has proven to be scuff resistant for the most part. (My bag got gate-checked multiple times and came back mostly unscathed considering how it was handled). The aesthetics of this bag appear suitable for both business and leisure. I chose the black colorway and appreciate the design shift that Briggs & Riley are offering with this bag compared to their flagship models which are in my opinion great for business, but to stuffy and outdated for personal travel. It’s a welcomed step in a more modern direction.Con’s:Oof, fasten your seatbelts…1. Wheels are not great quality. If you roll these on tile, hardwood, smooth surfaces you’ll be fine. In reality, when we travel, we aren’t just rolling the suitcase through ideal conditions. Rolling them on the road or sidewalk or even cobblestone is bound to happen when connecting to transportation to and from the airport. After one international trip, the wheels have stripped back so much surface that they are running super thin. With only one trip, these things look like someone took a belt sander to them. I do not have faith that these will hold up long term. I’m sure the warranty will take care of it, but who wants to warranty after every trip? (I’m unsure if there’s a limit and you’ll just get the same wheels which will eventually fail again due to design). These wheels desperately need to be redesigned and should be more robust. The wheels stand out in comparison to the rest of the bag and appear to be a last minute design choice and an afterthought. One would think that at this price point, we wouldn’t have to worry about such things. Sadly, because I do like the suitcases other features and style, I have to admit that these wheels are simply not fit for purpose.2. This last con is minor in comparison but is definitely a head scratcher. You purchase this suitcase because you want to be compliant with airline requirements, which help you avoid a gate check fee $$. Do not be tempted to expand this suitcase if you wish to avoid a gate check fee! If you expand this suitcase it may no longer be in compliance with the airline dimension requirements. If you expand it, you might have to pay the fee, gate check it and lose time heading to baggage claim after the flight. Sure this bag may have been designed with the intent of coming back with souvenirs or other newly acquired belongings and the intent to check the bag in said scenario, but who buys a bag at this size to check it in? It’s likely that you chose a bag of these dimensions to avoid checking luggage altogether.Overall it’s a stylish bag and for the most part does what it’s supposed to. I’m deducting two stars for the aforementioned cons. If you can live with only being able to use the wheels on gentle surfaces then this bag may work out for you.Safe travels!

I've been a Briggs & Riley customer for many years and have found their quality to be excellent. I had a B&R carry-on bag but it was a bit larger than what international carry-on dimensions allowed and didn't have four "spinner" wheels. Before choosing B&R for this purchase I looked at many other luggage manufacturers but found that this bag had the features, quality, size, and weight that fit my needs. After a recent 9 day vacation to London using only this carry-on and a small personal backpack I am confident that I made the right decision. The ball bearing wheels spin and rotate effortlessly making this bag a breeze to roll through the airports. The zippers glide smoothly to open up the well thought out storage areas, and the telescoping handle has a feeling of sturdiness and precision. My previous B&R luggage is wonderful and likely will last for many years to come. This new B&R addition with all of its updated features, improved weight characteristics, and pleasing aesthetics mean that the old bags will likely see less time traveling with me. My wife and I do quite a bit of international travel and I feel very comfortable recommending this bag.

Very good quality as you would expect from B&R.

First off it is a extremely well made piece of luggage. I think it looks great and I love the design, including the various pockets. The handle is long and sold and the wheels are smooth. I really liked the design and the various front pockets the bad has. It was a selling point for me. It is a splurge item and that's fine - you can obviously get something as functional for a fraction of the price. But I liked it and didn't mind paying for it. The problem is that if the main compartment is even 3/4 full then putting almost anything in the other pockets will push it past the carry on limit. Perhaps that is the nature of a soft side - but I didn't have that issue with my now departed Victorinox Werx 21" soft side. In fact, the cubic volume for this bag is supposedly equal to my kids' much less expensive hard side carry-ons. If I fill one of those bags up to the max I know it will remain carry on complaint because it has structure. However, if I were to transfer the contents to the B&R it would be far too large to fit into the "luggage check" frame for Air Canada or Wesjet. So if you guy this bag - get a ruler and check before you go! For that reason I had to return it.
