Easy to set up and get printing fast. Scanner software and driver and easy to download. Well packaged to prevent damage. Toner cartridge is standard for these Brother printers.

We really liked this printer, it was faster than our old HP and had better print quality. And then we tried to restrict color printing... such a basic, core function should be simple right?We have a medium-sized office with ~50 users and Brother apparently thinks it is acceptable to simply display an error message when a user tries to print in color. That is the ONLY option they offer to restrict color printing on the printer itself.Our old HP would automatically print in black and white with no fuss, no matter what settings the user had. But this much more expensive machine is incapable of printing in black and white only. If any one of our users accidentally tries to print in color all they see is the cryptic error message in my photo.A 30 minute chat with support yielded no progress: when I told him that we need it to print reliably, not give an error message they simply said "Well nobody is gonna be printing in color are they?" They were so unprofessional that I actually hung up, it was unbelievable considering all the good things you hear about Brother.We don't need a printer that shows error messages, we just want one that can print in black and white even if a user accidentally tries to print in color. That functionality was on our cheaper, 10+ year old HP printer. If restricting color printing is important to your business, I'm sad to say that Brother is not your printer company.

Fantastic printer. Nice set of features for scanning from my Iphone in some ways like my Fujitsu document scanner. Thsi model is very economical even toner cartridges that have 9000 page capacity - tn-439's. It arrived in perfect shape UPS for me. I set it up on wired Ethernet and is shared and works perfectly. I always wonder whether or not such machines will work properly - this one is good for me. My older brother products were more basic Brother has added a lot of nice features to this one.
