Because it’s NOT made in the USA and because $100 is too much, I should minus 2 stars, however, the sheath is really nice. The axe is small enough to attach to anything and everything easily. I’d buy it again to have a 2nd one if it was $70 instead of $100 for the fun of throwing it in the yard with friends. I’d buy it again if I lost or damaged this one. It throws well. It’s fun

Been looking to pick one of these up for over a year now after seeing the reviews on them. They have become hard to find and this is a great price. Came loose in the "gift box" packaging and the point penetrated the box in 3 or 4 areas in shipping but that was the shippers and not the sellers fault, and I won't be using the box as a gift item anyway. Just happy to locate one while they are available. Yes they are smaller than a regular axe, but this is a tomahawk. Full tang and quality made. Came ready sharpened with handle wrapped in paracord. Great addition for hiking, camping, or bug out bag gear.

I have recently gotten into Hawks as my EDC for personal protection. I have done extensive research looking for a Hawk that would best fit me and my needs. I am a female and some Hawks are pretty large for my frame. I previously carried a DOG Fast Hawk which was perfect until I found this. Browning really hit it out of the park with this Hawk in my opinion. It's weight is perfect, and very well balanced. Honestly, even if I couldn't get a slash in the smack alone would inflict damage enough for me to get away. The spike is not super sharp, it seems that it is there for more of a jabbing option in your defense. I have read many reviews that talk negatively about the paracord grip. While it is a bit rough and definitely not pliable I really don't mind it. If it does happen to become a problem you can simply cut it off due to there being a gator grip style grip underneath, very similar to what is on the grips of many Gerber fixed blades. The sheath is the best sheath I have seen for a Hawk, hands down! It has 2 molle clips that it comes with already stretched, I have already modified it per my own carrying style. I have it set for horizontal carry, but I have also purchased a law enforcement ring style flashlight carrier that put on my belt for another option for carry. When it is hooked to your belt with the molle clips it is incredibly easy to quick draw. I found that the sheath is perfectly made for easy draw access. All in all this Hawk is by far my absolute favorite for the price. If you Are wanting something that won't burn your wallet this is the way to go! Of course I have dreams of one day owning an RMJ or KaliHawk, this has definitely replaced and sufficed that want!(The picture with the Hawk next to the knife is the standard issue USMC KA-BAR.)

I got this "used" off Amazon for $49. Saved me $10. (That's why I shot the "box" pics as well)This is a good little buddy to have along. Light but deadly, small but powerful. It says "Taiwan" on it, but this thing is not breaking. NOT breaking. Period.I bought this primarily for CQC because I'd rather have this against an enemy than just my knife. I could go with simply a big knife, but I'm not into carrying "swords" around. I'd rather have this + my normal knife which is more usable anyway. And the small axe/medium knife combo is my preference to just carrying one big blade. But that's personal, go whichever way you want. It's small, but I wanted it to be small. See pics for size. If it was a big, it'd obviously be more capable (they did come out with a larger version) but I'd not carry it with me and end up not having it when I needed it. This thing can be put on my carrier. It doesn't exactly "disappear" on it, but at least it's discreet. I will use camo wrap on it to make it blend when I get around to it.I'm not gonna talk about its cutting/chopping/whatever abilities, nor its blade. You're really better off going off to Youtube and watching it in action. You'll get more than what I could ever say. I know that's what I did.The grip felt weird at first, and it is not the most comfortable, but I didn't get this to terrorize trees all day. I would like to say I got used to it quickly, but that would be a lie. It does provide for a good grip but it also "cuts" into your hand. No, I don't have soft hands; it's just not its purpose to hack away all day long. With gloves this problem disappears, but be mindful if you're gonna planning to use this without. Just ... better don't.As you can see in the pics, I'm still figuring out how to put this on my carrier and having it quickly accessible. No point in CQC if you can't have it in your hand in a flash. The current configuration would work, but I'd have to find a way to secure it, as the kydex safety (sheath is good btw) would not be in the position of the pics. It would have to be "safety off", which means I have to find a way to secure it so that it doesn't fall but also have it accessible when I draw it. Turning it upside-down does not work for me, unless it sticks up way over my head (like I said, it's small), and that's not an option. Also, the kydex sheath does not go diagonally, for anyone contemplating such a thing. The Kydex sheath, now that I mentioned it, is not the "safety off", "pull down" and "it's out" type. There is a small part on the inside upon which the heavy blade rests, so you have to pull it with the spike out first, in a somewhat circular motion. Like I would pull the spike to my left and down, using my right hand (where I am grabbing it in the pic). So I am not overly concerned with the weight and it dropping out accidentally. Yes, it does bump somewhat on the plate but a little velcro juuuuuust closed a bit can solve that and keeping from striking the plate -which besides annoying gives my position away.I hope all this was useful and I am open to suggestions :-)

Product is solid even thought its not made in the US. I like the one piece construction. No joints that will loosen or break. Edge is sharp. fits good in the hand. The rope winding on the handle might come loose with heavy use, but I will have no problem redoing it as I do a bit of paracord knotting designs on my gear. There is also a spiked pommel for those who have a need for that sort of thing. I have not put it to the test yet and I have no idea how well it holds an edge under heavy use. Metal as stated on Browning site is High Carbon 1055 Tool Steel. Blade retails for $98 so I think I paid an OK price for this piece. The scabbard is a Bladetech polymer molded kind. Attached to it there are some decent Tec-Lok molle type clips that are adjustable and can also be removed altogether. Instructions to install/remove the tomahawk from the sheath are included in English and French. There are small spring loaded latches on these (unique feature) that make it very easy to install on a backpack with molle system. it is a bit tricky at first to sheath/unsheath the ax, but it takes very little time to master this.Amazon needs to improve pictures and descriptions of products listed (Amazon why don't you just try to include links to the manufacturer's sites in your listings)_http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/knives/detail.asp?fid=118G&cid=320&tid=110BLHope this helps others!
