Easy to install

The instructions are straight forward but in most cases the installer will need the basics of being able to strip wires and join them together and use a voltmeter. In my case, I am installing this on a Badlands 10k winch at the front of my Jeep Wrangler. I wnat everything to stay water tight so I am cutting the existing control wire to reuse the waterproof plug. Inside, wires for ground (connect to black to on the new controller black); green/white for power (new controller red); blue for winch in (new controller yellow) and brown for winch out (new controller white.)Someone else's wires maybe be different so I would recommend testing each wire with a voltmeter to verify. But every winch will have these four wires. Four wires to connect and your all set. Later I will add a light to use the other connection for a winching ligjht.

I finally got it, and have installed it. I have a 2021 Teryx4 S LE UTV with a Tractor Supply Traveller 4,500 pound winch. Because of my winch being of a different brand/manufacturer from this remote control, it works, but it was not a plug and play installation. In my case, a bit of knowledge of electrical circuit operation and polarity was required to determine the correct wiring connections when working with two different wiring color codes used by two different brands, as well as knowledge of basic electrical wiring safety and techniques. I have this knowledge, so it was just a matter of probing with a multimeter the polarity control wires going into the winch controller that determined correct operation while the winch was being operated IN and OUT with the wired controller. In my application, the wiring connections ended up being yellow remote IN wire to yellow winch controller IN wire and white remote IN wire to green winch controller IN wire for correct winch operation. But YMMV. Then of course, there is the fairly standard red battery + and black - (ground) which was the same on the remote and winch control wire. I tied off and did not use the blue auxiliary light wire because I do not yet have this light on my rig.The modifications made to the remote control wiring that were necessary for my application means that my remote control unit is no longer returnable, so I had to make sure that it worked before I cut any wires. This was my choice and is not a complaint, just an FYI that some buyers may require professional installation if they don't have the knowledge and experience to make the necessary modifications. All in all, I'm glad I have this, and am looking forward to being able to use my winch when needed without being limited by the length of the handheld wired winch controller. Yet, I did not remove this wired controller, but just disconnected it and left it in place so that I can still reconnect and use it should there be any sort of malfunction or failure of this remote.I'm hoping for and expecting a long and reliable service life for this new addition to my off road big boy toy for playing in the mud, will update this review if it becomes necessary.
