Fiberglass tent poles are a little bit trickier to use when the cord that connects all the pieces together is no longer connected.I found the shock cord and the supplied needle to be sufficient for threading the cord through my fiberglass poles and repair my tent. Essentially, you feed the cord through a washer and then through each pole. When you get to the other end of that run, you tie a knot at the washer at the beginning, pull some tension on the elastic, add another washer, and tie another knot. I’m not sure what the major malfunction was with the other reviewer who gave it two stars.Additionally, you can use this on backpacks to help strap items onto your pack. I also have a tent which uses similar shock cord to secure the location of the intent to the corners of the outer tarp tent. This will come in handy. It is important to note that this is 1/8, not 3/32 diameter. Some other brands do offer this in the thicker weight, but I think it will works just fine.

the elasticity is tight, more like bungie cord than elastic. came with a threading hook which was a very nice surprise!

Other than a rudimentary diagram that’s difficult to understand (I’ve added a close-up photo along with this review), there are no instructions provided on how you’re supposed to use this kit. I consider this to be a serious drawback. Kit includes just under 1/8” diameter bungee cord, a 19 5/8-inch-long fine wire with one looped end, a plastic clip, and four (4) ea. 1/4-inch O.D. split ring washers (with strong magnetic attraction). A U.S. Quarter Dollar is shown in my photos for sizing comparison.I would have preferred a larger diameter bungee cord material and better installation instructions, and perhaps stainless steel washers (and/or a supplier provided video on Amazon ad page for this item).I hope you’ve found my comments and photo beneficial in your considerations.

We needed to repair a tent pole for a batting cage, which is super long. This worked great!
