This is a quality cable that can solve issues with older monitors. I'm using it with an HDMI KVM switch driving a 2560x1600 60hz display.I've learned that the newer 2.1 HDMI spec (from my EVGA 3090 FTW3) now supplies power so I didn't need to hook up the USB to a power block.- Not sure, but additional power may be required to support EDID or possibly higher refresh rates.Edit/update: I’ve encountered bright random horizontal lines appearing and sporadic signal loss/black screen. For troubleshooting I switched over to a Dp and DVI-DL source. Issue does not appear. No choice but to return this cable. :(

Bought this when I didn't bring my docking station to a remote location. Plugged in and worked perfectly. Since I don't have a USB-A on the side of the laptop where this is connected, I left it unplugged like others. Since I only do email, Office products, internet browsing, etc. (no gaming) I can't see any difference from being in my home office. The connected plugged into the laptop sure does heat up as well as thru the night it must heartbeat the monitor as it lights up briefly then goes dark even when I ctrl-alt-del Lock so I do cover the monitor at night to alleviate the light shows. I'd buy again for sure!

I have a micro hdmi converter from a raspberry pi 4, going to this active hdmi to Displayport cable, with the power coming from a power bank, and it works perfectly. Able to use a DP monitor with raspberry pi 4,it looks great and works perfectly. I'd like a longer cable for the USB power but that's my only gripe. Thanks..

Cumple con dar video, pero a mí solo me daba 4k a 100hz en un monitor hecho para 165hz entonces no pude sacar el mayor provecho como dicen

Worked for hooking up my hdmi source laptop to my DisplayPort monitor. Other passive cables didn’t work but this one did.

HDMI to DP cables are a bit tough to find. I only found two on Amazon. This one worked great connecting my laptop to a 1440p monitor. So far seems to be working great and no issues.Note that if you're looking for a cable that goes FROM HDMI TO DP (not the other way around) the cable has to be active/powered since DP has a higher power requirement than HDMI. Hence why this cable and others have the additional USB plug. In spite of what some other reviews have said, it IS required to be plugged in. Even if it works for a short time without the USB plugged in, running an under-powered connection will eventually cause a failure.
