OK so I have to review this as to my use so far and so far it looks good. It was easy to install and has worked well for my 22 ft boat so far. Others reviews show failing metal in the gears so I will watch for that and update the review if I see any. Also, be sure to have another secure method in case there is a failure. That is my plan and I will update if I see any problems. Overall so far I am very satisfied with the purchase.

The latching mechanism works properly, the assembly appears to be well made, the strap seems plenty strong and the winch draws in easily and smoothly. The winch mounted easily to the existing mounts and 33 feet of strap should be more than enough.

Nice winch.It is made of fairly heavy metal.I love that it has 2 speeds.Put the handle on the middle shaft to wind it in quickly.For heavier loads it has a second shaft that you can move the handle to, to gear it down. It gears down a lot.It locks in place so you can move the handle in the middle of pulling something.I love how the stop works either way and even has a neutral position for when you want it to free spin for pulling the cable out.I also love that the switch arm for changing the lock is long and easy to use. Not something you always see on these.Rope is thick enough and the hook is nice and big.Great heavy winch

The machining on the gears looks great.Previously I had been using a Come Along Cable Puller to get heavy items into my trailer. This winch is the solution I was searching for.I use this for my cargo trailers - not a boat. However it should work well for getting a boat up onto its trailer. No matter how good a winch is, I would imagine that once the boat is on the trailer you would secure it with straps and not rely on the winch alone for the front strap.

It's camo, hunting motif will look good for whatever you've got going for everyone's favorite fall activity that doesn't include eating.Take a look at my photos for the bolt hole dimensions. There are a few different sizes of winches, and this one is larger than some, so you will need to align it with whatever you have.The ratcheting feels very well-made. It's ratchet pawl is good steel, but of course it's not made for saltwater really.
