It cranks fine, and pulls the boat on to the trailer fine. HOWEVER the ratchet doesn't lock, it will overpower the back lock and unrolls with approximately 100lbs force. It's only the second time I've used it, as the boat has sat all summer. Out of warranty, so I'll have to by a different unit....If Sparkwhiz would send another one, I would love to find out if it was just a 1 off defect and change this review to 5 star.

Needed a new winch and purchased this winch because of price and color as strap matched boat bottom. Had a small issue with a bolt but was quickly resolved by Sparkwiz and would definitely buy again if I ever need a new one !

This would be a 5 star review, but I ordered the wrong size (1600 lbs) to use my 2200 lb pontoon boat and motor. Buyer mistake! After a dozen or so launches and retrievals the ratched mechanism broke. Easy to install, and was working fine, but obviously I need to have the 3200 lb unit instead!

Second use the lock pin bolt sheared off in the water on the ramp. Lower stars for durability. I'd suggest buying a few of the inner pin bolt just in case this is a design flaw and not a material quality issue. Nothing worse than cranking your boat and not having a way to hold it to your trailer.
