I like the size of the pedal.I leave compression always on.I bought this pedal in hopes of having a quick pedal to grab so I could have that and a boost, and it will work for that. I’ve also found that I can use the compression only on this all the way on sustain and run it into another compression pedal boss and it sounds even more awesome

I've been playing guitar for many years with lots of equipment and was seeking a new compressor pedal.The demo, assuming correct was the most impressive, so gave it a try.On my system, which is not unusual and could if had too, reproduce the demo setup. However, from what I experienced - that reviews that comment that this is a very "transparent" compressor and etc., - were correct as how I hear it too. It's more of an overdrive pedal, I would suggest and to my ear, there are others I'd prefer and do have - preferring a more fuzzy organ sound, or "compressed" overdrive, so to speak.Also, mine came with no printed material of any kind, no instructions to define more specifically what the controls do. New folks will have to look up these self assigned labels that many use for when an effect takes hold and releases, etc.Actually, I was not sure if mine had not been returned since that box never had a seal and the bag it came in, the tape was not really sticky - it was just the pedal in a light weight box that looked like it had been open and closed a few times.So, it's, as I hear it, a more "dirty" overdrive, and the compression is very, how to say, "transparent". It is there, one can hear a "punchy-ness" change - however, when I use "pinch harmonics" I get the same sound, so to speak, so had to listen hard - "what" I was hearing and from what was contributing to it.I hope that helps someone.So, the "for the price" comments, lol! - yes, for the price with the special adjustment I had as well one might give it a try, I guess. However, there's just so many other ways already to "do this" and step on someone's signal chain - this looks like a longer walk to get there.I'll add that, to me, the aluminum box felt light weight (cheap?) and the stomp controls, when checked the Nut at the base with my finger nails - could move. So, with the loud clicking and all the rest I had to send it back. I wish it did what the demo, I supposed got EQ'd to do? That more apparent compression with that Hz, tone is what I was seeking and did not hear in the other demos.

Great bargain dual compressor and overdrive. Both sides of this pedal sound good. Solid build and a space saver on my board. Caline is probably my favorite budget pedal maker at this point. I own several of their pedals and I’m quite satisfied with all of them.

UPDATE: This is so good I bought a second one for another pedal board!Let me start my saying I am a lifelong player playing since I was 10 and I’m almost 70 now. I love to use compressors and have owned every major pedal from simple designs to high end recreations of studio compressors. I record mostly with modelers these days so I can go direct. The tone I gravitate toward is a Robin Ford/Larry Carlton sound which used to be achieved with a lower power Fender Deluxe or Princeton being pushed with a dyna comp into a tube screamer. I have used many Dumble inspired pedals. This Caline model has a very transparent compressor feeding a Zen Drive copy. I was able to dial in very organic sounds for a pushed lead sound into my Deluxe ToneMaster and ZT. This is a classy looking pedal and has a boutique vibe. I love the purple led’s and they are not blinding (an issue with many pedals). The pedal is surprisingly quiet considering both drive and compression type effects usually introduce some noise. There is nothing not to like here. I just hope it holds up. At this price, consider it a gift to yourself. If you are looking for an always on compressor, this is transparent enough to do it. I use the drive to push and saturate my sound going through a TC Deluxe Combo 65 pedal and a Two Notes Opus. I also use UA, Tonex and Helix in the studio and their Dumble models are elegant. I think this Key West pedal will be a nice thing to place in front of my signal chain. This little pedal holds its own very well compared with major brand pedals the versatility of having independent control of both effects it super useful live. One wish though, please use silent switches. These things have a loud click when stepped on and you can hear it on a silent stage scenario or a quiet passage in the music. I wish companies use better quality switches.The click won’t go unnoticed on a quiet stage. At this price, no worries!

Okay, technically I've never played a fumble, a Zen Drive, or an empress compressor…but I really like the controls on this compressor, and I really like the drive on this overdrive. It does sound like an overdriven blackface fender. I don't regret buying this pedal at all. I'm really happy everyday that I plug into it. And the graphics and title are really funny.
