We've just used them a few times. Outdoor and indoor; hiking and walking. Nothing yet more extreme than that thus far (walking in creeks, climbing, etc.).The person wearing these normally gets a 7 or 7.5 size with slender feet. We got the size 7 and they are, so far, VERY comfortable with some space to breath but not so much that we slip around within them. GREAT traction. Not sweaty (although this person doesn't sweat much). She wore them in mostly hot weather (sunny 80s) and we have not yet tried them under different circumstances.BTW, we normally wear oboz, keen, teva, chaco, and other name brands... so these are doing very well for being an off-brand at a price point roughly half of the others. They have a great strong toe to essentially render obsolete the stubbing of toes. However, like nearly every other such hiking sandal we know, rocks and pebbles magically find their way through the various holes so as to lodge themselves uncomfortably between the sole of the shoe and the foot. The first sandal company to solve that problem will corner the market. Alas, these are not that sandal. (No drop in stars because it's a ubiquitous problem... if someone knows of a sandal that has solved this issue, please respond.)UPDATE: VERY comfortable... really enjoying them. VERY well made and designed. We'll update as we go along... but, so far.. VERY nice option.

These are pretty comfortable. They provide a nice cushion. Once I had the back strap in place, I still felt like the top of my foot had a lot of room, so I tried to pull the top leave tighter. That didn't really seem to do anything. I think that's more for looks than functional. It's all about the velcro back strap for adjusting the fit.It seems like a lot of room at the back. I'd say these run a little big. I also tried them on without socks, so if you are someone who wears socks with this kind of shoe, you may feel different. The soles are pretty light, I think they will wear pretty quickly based on other shoes I've had with similar material. For something to put on for a casual day when you don't want an open toe, these are a nice option.

I got these on a whim because I’ve never used shoes like this and they are very cool! They are definitely sturdy, but don’t seem clunky. I could see myself hiking in these easily. My only drawback is that the holes, while they give great ventilation, can also invite Dirt and debris into the shoe. If that doesn’t bother you, you’re golden. They took almost no work to break in and are very comfortable.

GREAT shoes! Super easy to put on. I love that I can tighten across the toe box with the elastic cord, and around my heel with the velcro tab. The toe is nicely protected, and the sole of the shoe is a little taller than most, which helps prevent sticks and things from getting in the side openings. The tread on the bottom of the shoe is great - preventing slips, and I love love love that my feet can breathe and I can just hose these off if they get dirty. The shoe itself is attractive (I love the camel logo), and there is a strong attention to detail. These are really good quality shoes!

I wear a variety of water shoes for hiking and kayaking. While these have the look of my Keen shoes, that's as far as it goes. The fabric is hard and stiff. The bungee is just for show; no matter how hard I snug it up it does nothing because the fabric is so stiff. So the only adjustment I can make is cinch up the velcro heel strap but then it forces my toes up against the front of the shoe. So my feet sort of flop around in the shoe. The worst part is that the side of the shoe comes up too high on my ankle bone which is actually painful. I'm a perfect size 7 which I ordered, but these are too wide and not really adjustable. I'm afraid I might lose the shoes in the lake/ocean when practicing capsizing and self-rescue.I'm very disappointed, was hoping to be able to hike a little bit in these, but I don't even want to walk around casually in them because they're uncomfortable. I can kayak in them, but that's about it, which means I need to take another pair of shoes with me which defeats the purpose of ordering these shoes.I hope other people have better luck with them.
