Worked great for 2002 Subaru. Pop a battery in, program it and go. Looks durable. Lock buttons work great. Range is about 60ft or so. Plenty for the average person. Definitely great value for the money spent. Lasted longer than the car…

I've been living without a remote for my 2003 Forester for years. The cost of OEM replacement was just crazy. I ran across this remote and the price and the reviews were favourable enough to take the risk. The only challenge was programming it (it even came with a battery installed!). The instructions they provide are completely accurate but there is a way to make it more clear.There are small adjustments I'd suggest to the procedure1. sit in the drivers seat and ensure all of the doors are closed2. open and close the driver side door3. immediately insert the key into the ignition and cycle the key between on and off as quickly as you reasonably can. If you wait too long between the on and off cycle the car will not enter into programming mode. An on-off cycle of less than 1 second should be about right.4. After 10 on-off cycles, the car should honk to tell you it is in programming mode. If you don't get the honk, check your doors. Take the keys out and start over at step 2 and make sure your on-off cycling is fast enough.5. once the car honks OPEN and CLOSE the drivers side door6. Press the LOCK button on the remote7. Remove the key from the ignition.Done. Works great. I've only had it for a day so I can't speak to longevity. In a month or so if the thing still works then I'm buying a second for the spare set of keys.
