Typically on an Audi A3, the oil filter cap is made out of plastic. This normally is not an issue except on an Audi A3, the oil filter cap is on the bottom of the car. In a place that can easily be hit by a pothole or speedbump on the road. This does seem to fit my Audi A3, just make sure to follow some kind of repair manual, or other instruction video to make sure you are putting everything together correctly. The overall build quality seems alright. No leaks so far!

I have an Audi A4 Quattro Avant wagon, and the fuel filter housing started leaking before I bought it. One of the reasons I got a good deal on it. The OEM filter housing is made from plastic, and just like everything else on this 2008 vehicle, the plastic is getting brittle. I assume that's why the old one is leaking, this one however is made from aluminum which is great for two reasons. The first is that it is much stronger than the OEM plastic housing, and less likely to embrittle over time. The other reason is that the metal helps radiate more heat and makes the oil cooler work that much more efficiently.

I only saw plastic housings when I first search then I learned you could get them made in aluminum which seems like the smarter choice that would last longer than a plastic part. Installing it was pretty easy. I just had to follow some instructions and it didn’t take me too long. I had a little trouble at first but then I figured it out. If you have some tools and know a little bit about cars you should be able to do it. After I put it on I took my car for a drive and everything worked great. No leaks or weird noises. It fits perfectly just like the one that came with the car. My engine sounds happy and I feel good knowing that I’m using a good part.
