Right now I've got it connected to an Omen 17-inch gaming laptop with a really power-hungry CPU and the GPU locked on and at full frame rate. Fans a-blazin' away as it pumps out heat as well as light. And the battery is still going UP in charge percentage even while Junior pounds away at the gaming with all the GPU-overheating crazy performance options switched firmly ON. LOL.So, yeah, this thin little thing can pump out the watts, power your gaming, and still charge your battery. Earlier I checked it on a more pedestrian HP that only wanted 65 watts or so, but the plug fits, and the voltage is right, and it's fine - because a charger will NEVER feed more wattage to the laptop than the laptop consumes. Wattage is DRAWN, not forced, from charger to laptop, and always controlled solely by the laptop. That's how every last one of 'em is designed, regardless of mfg. So if the plug fits and the voltage is around 20v or so, this charger will work fine for your laptop - doesn't have to be a gaming monster.I mentioned THIN, and yessiree, it's thin. Thin to WIN. Thin to win at traveling. Looks sleek, this little ovalish profile charger, and I love it. Gleaming black plastic housing that's pretty sturdy to boot. Cord wraps nicely around it (when it's packed away - do NOT do that when using the charger since it needs to reject heat, and not be insulated), but yeah, cord wraps nicely because of the shape and this is a PERFECT travel companion.Nice charger with power to spare and sensitivity to work with ANY HP made in the last 15 years or so which uses this size power plug - and that is almost EVERY HP LAPTOP made, even some of the mini-sized ones, even some of the Chromebooks, yep, ALL of 'em. Very universal charger, and another reason to love it. I RECOMMEND this one, for sure!

does it's job, similar weight and size as the original, I just wanted a backup and it meets the requirements.

I’ve been using this as a spare for my HP Victus laptop for about a month now. My device recognizes it as if it were OEM, and it charges just like the HP charger. Never heats up, quality build and durability. I was nervous to get an aftermarket charger for my new gaming laptop but have been very happy with this.
