It seems like good quality wax. I’m using it for my home made beard balm. It’s a good value for the amount you get. It’s easily manageable in this form.

A 4oz packet of carnauba wax doesn't look like a whole lot, but a little of this stuff goes a long way. Carnauba is a super hard natural wax that comes from palm tree leaves and is used in everything from car polish to candy. This stuff is food grade, which means you can technically eat it. I use it to make things like non-toxic cutting board wax and lanolin lip balm. The product comes in a resealable bag, is a light yellow color and is more of a dust than flakes. That is not a bad thing, though, since it will make it easier to dissolve. Just remember to always weigh out your ingredients rather than using volumetrics to avoid any issues.

I use carnauba wax as a friction polish on lathe turnings. The last batch I got was. . . not sure what it was, but I suspect it wasn't carnauba. It had a lower melting point than true carnauba wax (which melts at ~180 degrees F), and flaked off rather than just sort of getting "dull" with time and handling.Admittedly, getting food grade wax may be overkill, but it being food grade does provide some assurances that it is actually carnauba wax instead of whatever waste wax my last back was. This stuff from Great Bay Ingredients melts at the proper temp, and (so far, at least) has shown no signs of flaking when used as a finish. Coming in flakes, it is easy to measure by volume or weight when calculating formulas. This is a great deal in wax, it is exactly what the label says it is. I'll be ordering more.

I've been making my own furniture paste wax and food safe paste waxes for bowles, platters, cutting boards, and utensils, one part of the mix is this wax to add a soft sheen when buffed. The higher the concentration the harder the wax and sheen.
