I use this for extra security on my bike rack while driving to secure it further. Great for reassurance.

In opening the zipper lock on the bag that the product was shipped in. There was a set of instructions that came with it, but they were only in Chinese. The product listing on the website helpfully listed the instructions in English, though.It’s a little more than thirty-five inches long from one tip to the other. According to the product listing, the chain link is made of heavy-duty steel. The links themselves feel thick in my hands when I hold them. The chain link is covered by a black fabric sheath, which helps if you are hanging it from your bicycle or if you are using this for carrying something.It is relatively lightweight and easy to stow into a storage bag on your bicycle or a duffel bag. The combination is black with red rings on either side of it. The bike lock was already locked together with the combination set to “00000.” Use this combination and then line up the two arrows on each red ring and then you can pull the plug out of the lock.To reset the combination to your preference, turn the knob clockwise and set it to the desired combination. Then rotate the knob back to its original counterclockwise position and you are all set.The chain feels thick and sturdy and seems to me would be difficult to cut through. The combination lock itself seems like it would be the weakest aspect of this lock. It feels like it’s made of sturdy plastic.However, the two endcaps of the combination lock are lightweight plastic, held in place on each end by two long red buttons. If you press those at the same time, the endcaps can be pulled off.Underneath those, I can see that the chain is bolted very securely to the combination lock itself, utilizing a hard plastic clamp and flat head bolt holding the two of them together. There is no way for the screw to be pulled out of the clamp. But I do wonder if that plastic clamp would break if someone took a hammer to the plastic lock and was determined enough to try to break it apart.Knowing all this, I would be comfortable using this to lock up my bicycle for short periods, knowing that it would be secure for a little while but not sure how long it would take a thief to break through this if they tried.Overall, this is a solid combination lock with a durable chain. The combination on the lock is easy to change but I do question how secure that combination lock is since it’s made of plastic.

I purchased this item because we have a "class clown" at work; who thinks he might still be in the third grade. He steals my chair at work and hides it. I use the chain and lock to secure my chair to the metal frame of my work bench. For the price and durability, it is perfect for the job.I do recommend.
