I have tried several portable door locks and all of them will only work on specific doors and doorjambs. I found this one to need a fairly thick width of the doorjamb in order to be effective.There are so many different frames, widths and styles it is difficult to find a one-fits-all device. Study the description and study your door situation then try your luck.This particular one is small which makes very packable, it’s well made, works smoothly, no rough edges, well machined. If it fulfills your needs it is worth buying.

I was a little skeptical when I ordered this lock, but now that I've tried it, it's impressed me. It takes about 10 seconds to install it and about the same time to remove it. Once it's in place, the door does not budge. I tried it on several doors in my house, and it worked on all of them. I'm definitely taking it when we travel.
