Second time I bought from this seller the item had a chipped filter and no name on the membrane. I installed and drained and redrained aprox 100 gallons through it, and it still tasted badly like backyard garden hose with chemicals. I was afraid to drink the water so i returned it. Bought from other provider and branded product worked properly and was cheaper too.

So at first it has a funny paperish flavor vs the OEM membrane but if i run about 2 whole tankfulls through it clears out then I don't notice a difference. My well water has a horrible taste and it certainly does not have a hint of that in the water.

Don't know what they mean my flavor on this review. This filters the water and does an excellent job. Use them on a G.E. Reverse Osmosis system and they fit and filter as expected.

These filters may fit correctly, but they left a nasty chemical taste in the water. We cycled it several times; allowing the tank to fill, then completely emptying it. The chemical taste lessened some, but after a couple days we were complaining of stomach pains and quickly realized it was the new filters. I purchased several gallons of drinking water to get us through and ordered the GE FX12P Reverse Osmosis Replacement Filter Set and the GE FX12M Reverse Osmosis Replacement Membrane. Within a day of no longer using the water from this filter set my family was feeling fine again. Just wanted to warn others who, like me, was trying to save a few dollars. It's not worth it!
