We have been using various model of hot water pots for years. This is by far the best, it costs more than the others but it has capabilities other heaters do not. It gives a digital read out of the water temperature as it heats it, you can stop at 195 to 205 for coffee if you use a French press like we do or allow it to go to 212 degrees for a full boil and for tea preparation. You can leave it on and it will keep the water at a high temperature so that if you need more hot water it stays hot or if you want it to boil again it will in a matter of seconds. It has other capabilities that we have not utilized because we have had no need to do so. It’s quiet, and fast, if you can afford the extra dollars buy it.

Fue para mi mamá, persona de la tercera edad, fácil de usar, muy buena calidad y calienta rápido el agua, lleno aproximadamente 4 min.Recomendado.

Pros:- I like how quiet this kettle is. Compared to my last kettle, which you can hear across the house, this one barely makes any sounds. It doesn't beep when it's done, instead, the lights turn off.- It boils fairly fast, about 3 mins to boil 1.8L. It seems to have a temperature detector; I found that boiling already warm water is faster than cold water- All the parts that touch the water are either glass or stainless steel, no plastic. The spout is stainless steel, looks pretty sturdy and is easy to pour- I like seeing the water boil, and how much water is in the kettle, due to the glass body. The lights are neatCons, there's a few design gripes I have with this kettle:- The way the power cord sits in the base sucks. There's an opening slit in the base for the power cord to go through, but it's located in an awkward spot. The power cord is thick and stiff, and you really have to twist it to get it into that slit, and even so, the cord is twisted in an awkward way and barely fits in the slit, and you really need to put it in the slit so the base sits flat- The lid is not hinged to the kettle, which means after boiling water, it's really hot, and you have to touch it to take it off.- The included infuser needs to attach to the lid, and slides in really awkwardly (you need a twist and a pull motion to detach/attach it). So if you want to use the infuser, you'd have to attach it to the lid, which it's hot from the boiling water.....- The glass isn't super well insulated, and there's no keep warm function, so you need to use the water soon after boiled, or it cools down pretty quickly in the potI decided to keep this kettle because I generally don't use the infuser, and I like everything else it does. But if you want to use the infuser in the kettle, be aware that it's very awkwardly designed.

I bought this unit because:* I was looking for a kettle with temperature adjustment beyond the standard presets* I wanted one that heated fast* I wanted water level indication WITHOUT plastic in contact with the waterIt works well and delivers on the above points. I recommend this kettle.Here are some other comments:* I think the LEDs work well and are a nice feature. White for standby, Red for heating, Green for at setpoint or keep warm.* I could not find a kettle with a level indication that did NOT have plastic. This unit obviously is nearly all glass, so you can easily see the level. There is only stainless steel and glass in contact with the water.* Note that the top is not hinged. It pulls off completely from the kettle if this matters to you.* Temperature control is via 5 presets OR you can select any temp you want, in 5 degree (F) increments.* You can switch between F and C, if this matters to you.* You can shut off the auditory indication that setpoint is reached, if this matters to you.* This unit comes with a tea diffuser which I have no intention of using.* Note that the 'keep warm' function, I find quite useless. When boiling water, I left it on keep warm, when I came back to the unit later, the keep warm temp was 150F. So it doesn't keep the water at the setpoint you previously set; it literally is just keeping it warm. I won't use it so it doesn't bother me.

This model is an improvement over the previous model i had. The earlier model was very good but this one improves what i thought were the flaws of the last one. I make 2 - 3 cups of tea once or twice a day, every day I am at home. I am retired so i am home a lot. Generally I make either herbal or green tea so at the extremes of temperature.-The lid opens up 90 degrees as opposed to only about 75 degrees making it easier to rinse out and get the infuser in and out.-The infuser is longer so i can use less water to make the amount of tea i want.-This one has preset temperatures as well but there are more than just for the specific types of tea. So not only can you set it for a specific tea type but there are also some in between temperatures for other purposes. The temperatures are labelled so you still know which level for different tea types. It does entail a few more button pushes as you scan through the various temps.-has a steep option so once your water has boiled to the correct temp, you add the tea and press the start button to have it steep for the ideal time.-keeps warm for 60 minutes. When you remove the kettle to pour the tea, the warm clock doesn't seem to hold the exact time but restarts at different times. For example if i take it off at 27 minutes it resets to 20 minutes. If i took it off at 3 or 4 minutes, it reset to 0 minutes giving me more than 60 minutes of warm time if i needed it. Haven't so far but it is a nice function.- the one thing i liked better about the last kettle was a louder beep so when i am working in the office i could hear when it hit the correct temperature. This beep is much more subtle so i am forced to pay better attention.-this kettle reaches temperature considerably faster than the last oneThough this model is more expensive than my previous one, i lucked out and purchased it when there was a coupon available so it didn't really end up costing me very much more. The other kettle still works so i am donating it to a local charity store.I highly recommend this model. Chefman products are always great from my experience.

We have been using chefman electric kettles for over a decade now, and actually purchased the previous version twice, we liked it so much. So when our most recent one finally gave up the ghost, I was sad to see that it had been discontinued, but was perfectly willing to switch over to the "new and improved" model.What a let-down.It's beautiful, and has a nicely small footprint, and the different colored LEDs for different functions are neat, but that's about all it has going for it.The "keep warm" function...doesn't. I'll boil a kettle, make a cup, then come back an hour later to make another one, only to find that the temp has dropped down to 140. So it doesn't hold temp any more than if I'd just turned the thing off and let it cool naturally.When the water is between 165 and 185F, the thing makes a sound like a distant tornado siren. It's loud enough that it drives the dogs nuts, which is a real adventure when I'm trying to be quiet while getting ready in the morning.The base gets HOT. Not the kind of hot you expect from an electrical device that's literally boiling water right above it, but hot as in I actually burned my fingers moving it after it shifted when lifting the kettle off of it.Finally....the beeping. Even if everything else worked perfectly, the beeping would be a deal breaker. Specifically, the way it beeps every few seconds after reaching temp, letting you know that it's ready to steep. It does this for 5 minutes, before finally switching over to "keep warm". Which again, it doesn't. Keep warm, that is. I'm never going to steep tea in this kettle. They desperately need an option to turn off the steeping prompts. Or only prompt for steeping on the temperatures that have a tea associated with them, and add a second option on each of those temperatures for just heating water, like they do the "212 - boil" setting.You can mute the beeping by holding the down arrow + start/stop, but that takes away the notification that your water is up to temp. I like knowing when my water is ready, so...choose the lesser evil, I guess.Maybe I got a lemon. Most reviewers don't seem to have any of these issues. But I don't know for sure, because I've reached out to Chefman twice over the last week and a half for product support, and haven't heard a peep.Like I said, I used to really like Chefman, and their products, but both of them have really let me down with this bloody awful kettle.
