Bought this cable to replace a similar cable (shorter, different brand) that I had issues with (UDMA_CRC, ZFS checksum errors). So far the replacement cable works good, so the previous cable may have been bad (hopefully, and not the disks).The cable end did have a plastic lump, but that was easily fixed by breaking it off, but it does leave you wondering about the quality of the cable. So far no issues though after a week of use, so I'm satisfied with it.

Hab das Kabel gekauft um SAS Platten zu testen, kabel eingesteckt am Controller, strom dran und an die Platte, PC Eingeschaltet, soweit sogut... Controller startet die Initialisierung und Plötzlich geht der PC aus, beim Überprüfen ob alles korrekt steckt hab ich mich fast am Kühler vom Controller verbrannt, so heis war der. kabel abgeklemmt, alles überprüft, PC eingeschaltet, alles funktioniert, ausgeschaltet, kabel angeschlossen, nochmal alles doppelt kontrolliert. Eingeschaltet und das selbe, PC schaltet aus, Controller läuft heis, danach fing das Netzteil an zu quietschen und PC macht Probleme... Der verkäufer meint es wäre "Inkompatibel"...Im endeffekt, ein altes Netzteil Kaputt und kein funktionierendes Kabel, hab dann von einem Bekannten ein Uraltes noch mit Molex Steckern bekommen, damit klappt es.FAZIT: ICH RATE DRINGEND VON DEM KABEL AB!

Quality is acceptable and works as advertised. All contacts are gold plated and looks reasonably well built. It's quite overpriced though.

同様のものの中では現在一番安価です。（2019年04月26日現在）ペリフェラルの電源ではなく、SATA型電源を挿す構造もシンプルで良い。というか、HPやDELLのサーバでSASカードから持ってくるケーブルのHDD側はシンプルな8482なので、そんなところで利用するにはペリフェラルがついてないのがとても良い。で、SFF8087がL型のものがあればなお良いです。HP Smart Array P212 HSTNM-B014 のようなカードのコネクタが横向きのものなら本製品のようにプラグがI型でもケースに収まるのですけれど、DELL PERC H700のような縦向きのものでは本プラグがケース側面より飛び出してしまい、ケースのふたが出来ないのですね。H710だとHP P212と同様の並びなので、これで行けますが。Aamzon内を探したけれど、SFF8087 to 8087 とか ではL型プラグの製品もあるので、SFF8087でL型が存在しないわけじゃなく。https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B075D7446L/https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00S6I19SU/是非、8087部分がL型の、8087 to 8482 ケーブルを作ってもらいたいですね。或いは、8087プラグ同士を接続する中継アダプタとか。2024年08月15日 追記ケーブルが細くて心配だったけれど、断線もなく5年間使えてます。ケーブルにストレスがかかるかと思っていたけれど、H700に挿して、PCサーバのふたを閉めてもいけます。なんか、他のレビューで「SATAが3、SASが1」とのカキコがありますが、僕はH700の2ポートにこの製品2個を挿して、HDD × 6、SSD × 1（キャッシュケイド）、LTO-5 × 1 で使えてます。「このコネクタじゃないとダメ」なんて状況に陥ったことはありません。すべてSASコネクタとして使用できています。
