I have only used a few of the 555s to-date, but so far all have performed as expected. More importantly, the provided 8-pin sockets seem to be of high quality. I used these types of sockets extensively back in the 80s and 90s. The ones in this kit seem to be of the same quality. Hopefully they will prove to be as reliable.

** UPDATE **The DIP sockets are very decent and something I would buy. I was not initially happy with the way the OpAmps were packaged and I don’t think it is ideal. However, the company reached out to me, appreciated my feedback. They expressed interest in my findings and explained a bit more about the ESD properties of the enclosure used for storage and shipping. I am unsure how resistant the packaging is to static but they assured me it is a blend of materials designed to reduce the likelihood of static induced damage to the IC’s. I have no reason to disbelieve them. That said, the IC’s are closely spaced and (in my case) we’re double stacked. That isn’t ideal but at least the storage box is segmented to prevent the rows of OpAmps from becoming entangled and causing a bigger issue. I think the packaging could use more work but the OpAmps and sockets are of very good quality and function as described. I haven’t had any issues with either the DIP sockets or the OpAmps. The price was very reasonable and worth it for the DIP sockets alone. The OpAmps are as described and the sockets are above average. The price might make you wonder if these are any good, given they are the price of a fancy coffee drink but they are. I get more enjoyment from a box of OpAmps and sockets than I do a fancy coffee drink from a fancy coffee shop, anyway ;).

I’m just dipping my toes into the waters with what the 74-series can do, and this is a perfect, affordable assortment of useful ICs. I really appreciate the pinout diagrams and chip descriptions built into the lid - worth a few extra bucks just for that handy reference.

Ich habe zwar noch nicht jeden Chip getestet, aber machen das was besprochen wird.btw ist die Box sehr schön. Die Pinzette ist nicht ganz so wie sie sein könnte. Aber immerhin brauchst. Man sollte nur kein Draht "z.B Widerstand" biegen.. da sie Pinzette nicht mehr bündig schließt. Trotzdem 5 v. 5
