It's an idel 2-1 tool for backups and emergencies, and it does well at both jobs. Coast rarely disappoints.

Great size. Very good battery life. The beam selection is very handy. I use it to walk my dog at night. (we have bears & coyotes)

Only thing that is a little werid is when you hold down the push button and it’s gets brighter and when you do it again it won’t stay bright it flashes kinda thought this is werid or maybe I’m doing something wrong?

Overall I will say it's not a bad light. In a market full of cheap aluminum bodied lights with super cheap drivers/LEDs I can see what they were going for. The body is a robust plastic and while it doesn't feel as substantial in the hand as aluminum it is by no means flimsy. The light is a bit big for using the flat design, usually the flat lights are a bit thinner to make up for the width. This is a preference thing but the tubular kind definitely grip better imo. The driver and LED look very solid. Usually this is where cheap lights cut cost and end up with LEDs that flicker on give inconsistent output, this has neither issue. Where this falls short is the lens. Now it is hard to come by a good zoom lens light as the zoom mechanism usually gets loose and you're stuck having to constantly readjust. You're also usually trading the rear reflector space for the ability to zoom. This light fixed one of those with a very tight sliding mechanism. It is a bit tight but I'd rather have this than it constantly going out of adjustment. The issue I have with the zoom function is that it is a lot more limited than even cheaper lights. This sort of defeats the purpose of it being a zoom light in the first place. It works and feels very durable but nothing really fancy about this light.

Initially I was unsure about the looks of this Coast flashlight, but I've grown to like it. The lighting of the product photos make it look gray, but in it's clearly black in person. The shell is a mix of molded hard plastic and hard rubber. The knurled features are hard rubber, which has a little more give and grip compared to the smoother hard plastic sections. It feels pretty good in my hand. It's a good size. It ranges from about 7-3/8" to 7-5/8" depending on the spot/flood focus setting. The flood setting give a circle of nice uniform lighting. The spot setting gives a hot spot of concentrated lighting in the center. Compared to flood, the spot does a noticeably better job at illuminating distant objects. The spot does angle out slightly. I get an 8ft spot (i.e. floor to ceiling) at roughly estimated distance of about 25-30ft. This flashlight also has a good range of output modes. The only disappointment is the function of the Turbo mode. It times out after 40s and there is some logic that locks you out of Turbo mode when attempting to use it multiple consecutive times. I'm still trying to decipher this as it's not clear. After it times out, it automatically returns to the previous setting, and from there it allows me to re-enter turbo mode. But if I turn the flashlight off and back on and then try to re-enter turbo mode, it only blinks a few times indicating that I'm locked out of Turbo mode for some unknown time. I think this would be less aggravating had the manufacturer spelled out the rules under which it times out and, most importantly, for how long. But there is no mention in the included documentation. Other than that, I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't stand this unit on end, as I often like to do during power failures. This unit has the rubber USB cover at the end, so when I try to stand it on end, while I can get it to stand, it rocks and is balanced precariously. Luckily, I found that if I unlatched and rotated the USB cover out from under the flashlight (see pic), it's a lot more stable. Overall, aside from the Turbo issue, I do think it's a great flashlight.
