Expectations were not high, but even against a low standard this compass was disappointing. If the metal used to form the case and lid were any thinner, it would be disturbingly close to foil. As for the hinge, it would be hard to engineer a flimsier one. The action of the slider that locks the needle is very sloppy. It will disengage with the slightest touch. This is at best a toy, and inadequate even at that because of its fragility. I will say, however, that the dial is very readable, and the needle, once it finally stops oscillating, does indeed point north.

No es la mejor brújula del mundo, pero tiene buena relación precio-calidad. Si se coloca a nivel se puede obtener lectura con unos 5º de margen de error, nada importante si lo que se quiere es tener una idea general. No debe usarse para trabajos de precisión.

básica pero hace lo que tiene que hacer. facil de usar y de buena calidad. la tapa cierra bien y la argolla se puede atar a una cinta.

Al usarlo hay que revisar que tu reloj no cause falsas mediciones.Ahoira sólo tengo que salir a usarlo en campo!

This compass is both a bargain and a great value. I've purchased several inexpensive (under $10) compasses and this one is, by far, the best built. And, personally, I prefer the fact that it is strictly magnetic and not liquid filled.Although no longer made in Japan (now made in Taiwan), this compass is quality built. It is lightweight, but solid and durable. It has a simple, attractive, easy to read face and a luminous dial. The stop lock stays in place and actually works (compared to other brands that unseat easily). There is a convenient metal loop to enable clipping or cording it for easier carrying. Most importantly, this compass has proven accurate.Even at double the $4.29 I paid, this compass is well worth the price. I have both kept and gifted this compass several times this year and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive, but accurate pocket-size compass.
