Got this for my pittie that runs hot. I previously had one from AKC and it was amazing!! I then bought a cheaper one that is just a colder material but doesn't have the gel.. and he didn't like that one. So I moved on to this one since I could not find another by AKC. I figured Coleman.. cant go wrong. But its like barely filled with gel. It's been a few years since I've had one of these mats, but I remember being able to step on the other mat and was able to stand on the cooling gel. When I step on this one, the gel moves to the side and I'm basically stepping on the floor.I know my dog laying on it will take up a greater area so he would be more on gel than the small area of my foot. I just don't like my older baby laying on the hardwood and I feel like I need to lay this on his bed vs straight on the floor.Four stars because I feel like the item is as described and works as described, I just wish there was more gel in it.

I expected a large mat to fit a large dog like they show in their picture with a golden retriever, it does not.The large would Barley fit a medium sized dog, my dog loves it but it barely fits under her belly.Also the product has a lot of air in it, so she cant get full contact with the gel.Would not recommend this product.

These mats are great! I have 2 of the large size mats, and they really are cool, and stay cool; you don't have to do anything to them. They are durable, and the gel inside creates a nice cushion. My 2, indoor cats actually lay on them, and you know how picky cats can be! At first glance, I thought they were pricey, but so glad I made the purchase. With hot weather already here, invest in your pet(s) comfort!

My 9 week old pup had a hard time sleeping in his bed. He would wake up hot and panting. I got this hoping it would help. It made a huge difference. He now sleeps during the night until I wake him for night time potty breaks. I tucked the edges under the roll of the bed to keep him from chewing on it. So far, so good.

We got one of these from somewhere else for our dog as can get hot here and he likes it to be cooler.He likes these pads a lot. They are a fair amount cooler than the rest of the floor. He alternates with the stone floor and this throughout the day.The only drawback is that when he gets up or excited those little nails of his sometimes open the pad up and then we have the gel inside on the outside. So we used vinyl pool patch on the last one for about 5 times and then invested in another pad.Hopefully he can try to not use his nails on this one.He is a fairly large dog, but he gets most of his body on the pad and he is happy.
