Gifted this to 16yo son at Xmas and he was super stoked! Spent hours outside over the next few days trying to master it.

This is a quality boomerang. I'm by no means a professional thrower and am fairly new to the sport, but am happy with it's performance. I will definitely get a Colorado Boomerang as I advance in my skills! My two year old likes to hold it and try to throw. Remember though that this boomerang is not built for younger children, you need to throw this type pretty hard. It returns well and has an easy to follow flying pattern. All in all a good buy and I am a very satisfied customer

I own several right and left handed boomerangs, but I'm still a newbie to throwing. I'll compare this 'rang to my others. This seagull is fairly easy to throw, it isn't as forgiving as the Aspen or Glacier, but I find it more forgiving than others like the Alpine or Yanaki. This 'rang has a wide curve, and flies pretty far. For a beginner, I'd say get the Glacier or Aspen, then this if you want a different handling 'rang. If you have a young beginner or feel your wrist/forearm isn't up to properly "snapping" the 'rang as you throw it, check out the Bumblebee. The Bumblebee is very lightweight, stable, easy to throw, and won't go far compared to other boomerangs.BOOMERANGS ARE NOT TOYS. Don't give this to a kid and leave them unsupervised, don't throw in front of an audience, and make sure you have oodles of open, empty space. Boomerangs have edges that could cut skin if someone were to get hit by one (boomerangs were hunting tools, after all).

First boomerang I bought and this thing is pretty badass lol. It takes awhile to get used to and you have to adjust how you throw it but eventually you get it. Maybe my 20th throw it came close enough to catch. It fly's out pretty far so go to a park b/c you'll need the room. I enjoy it for what I payed I'm probably going to buy another, probablya tri or quad blade boomerang but over all I'm impressed with it. It weighs about a pound is pretty sturdy. I didn't give it a 5 star durability rating b/c I think if it were to hit concrete at a pretty fast speed it would chip or break. Mine has hit the concrete a few times, it only slid or skipped across with little damage but scared the hell outta me each time.

This thing is a LOT of fun, and yes, it DOES work if you read the instructions carefully. However, be aware that you need a good amount of space to play with it (it probably won't work in your back yard).1. RANGE: This Amazon page says "30+ yard round flight" but the manufacturer (Colorado Boomerangs) website says it has a 40 yard range, which I believe is more accurate. Let me explain what this means; this boomerang will fly out 40 yards in front of you if thrown correctly, so you should have about 50 yards of empty space in front of you. This is HALF of a full-sized football field. Catch my drift? You need a lot of room to play with this toy. The first time successfully threw it, I was in the middle of a baseball field, and it went out over the fence, over power lines and traffic. Scared the crap out of me, but it did come back, thankfully.2. DOES IT REALLY RETURN? I repeat, if thrown correctly, this WILL come back. I watched several Youtube videos and read the instructions twice before I was able to throw correctly, but now that I've gotten the hang of it, I can throw it right every time.3. WIND: One downside of this boomerang (and I assume most boomerangs) is that it only works in light wind. You can compensate for a small amount of wind by changing the angle and direction of the throw, but anything more than a breeze will make this boomerang land several yards in front of you, instead of near you. This effectively means that you can't use this boomerang on most beaches.4. DURABILITY: This boomerang is made of very light, laminated wood, but it seems pretty sturdy to me, and it's actually kind of flexible. I've never played with it over concrete or asphalt, so I can't attest to its strength when landing on hard surfaces. I doubt that it would break, but it would probably become scuffed and scratched if used over concrete.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. This thing is impressive.
