Fantastic for adding oxygen into a bipap circuit that hooks up to a trach. Not as easy as one would think. This provided the perfect solution.

If you use CPAP, get these and keep them in your to-go bag. I was hospitalized for a major surgery recently. The hospital told me to bring my CPAP. After coming out of the surgery they couldn't let me use my CPAP because they couldn't figure out how to incorporate O2 into the setup. So they put me on an O2 system - and set the pressure the same as my CPAP - which turned out to almost be fatal and caused an overpressure injury to my left lung. Finally, after two days my wife was able to procure an adapter similar to this and I was able to use my CPAP. Never again. Now one of these adapters stays in my CPAP bag in case I'm ever hospitalized again. These aren't the clear plastic that most are, but they do the job and the way the port runs parallel to the hose keeps things nice and tidy.

This adapter fits easily onto the swivel connector on my ResMed mask and to the end of the heated CPAP hose. A nice feature is that the O2 port is parallel to the oxygen tubing and swivels, so that the tubing can be attached in whatever direction will minimize kinking. This is in contrast to my current adapter, which has the O2 tubing entering the adapter at a right angle.My concern about this adapter is that there is no information provided about the type of plastic it is made of. Unlike my current adapter, which is clear, hard plastic, this one is translucent and softer. For me this raises the question of whether there are phthalates or BPA in it. I have posted this question on the Amazon page and will update this review if I receive an answer. Until then, I will continue to use my old adapter.
