This set of two Ethernet male connectors supposedly should be able to make an easy terminal for the Ethernet cable without tools. Well, in reality you still need a cutter and stripier on the Ethernet cable to place the wires to the internal block. What is not needed is the compression tool for the more traditional way to attach the connector. In real life, I found it as excise of great frustration for people who are not good at handling tiny wires like me. The problem lies in the design. Looking at step 3 of the installation on the product page, it may look easy but it really difficult to get all 8 wires aligned without falling out. The step 5 amplifies the problem when placing the wire block to the connector body without getting the wire came loose. It would have a better design in revers way of placing the wires onto the main body and then applied a cap onto it.Finally, when pressing the block to the main body, the metal blades are supposedly pierce through the plastic skin of the wires and make contact. Will, that will highly depend on how thick are of the skins and the copper inside. The first few times I tried, the blades did not pierce through some of wires’ skin at all, even when they finally did, the contact as so poor make it unusable.Overall, consider its high price or just two, it would be easier just to buy pre made cable or buy the compressor that does not cost that much more.

These are pretty cool ends. I only have 10G connections to test with, and these work great on some CAT6A cables. They click into an RJ45 port well. They are long. My Rack door, when closed, is very close to these cables, which have a good bend in them. It's just something to think about for tight spaces. I use pliers to press down the connector before closing the lid part.

This was a 2-pak of cat8 rated field termination plugs. I began installing the first one onto some rather thick, shielded cat 6a cable and all went well until I go to snap the top piece onto the bottom and WOW not only did both hinges snap off, the threaded parts for screwing on the strain relief attachment also fell off. So the first one was toast. Had much better luck with the second one (in the pic) after being extra gentle with it. I was able to get a good connection on the first try despite the fact that those double decker load bars have a high failure rate in general. Still, a 50% failure rate on first eval does not motivate me to purchase more. Too bad since the second one works really well, and I am in the market for a good brand of FTP now that I'm working with thick cable that is difficult to terminate with typical pass-thru connectors.

Great for underground, large patches in big open setups where no rack doors must be locked etc. otherwise you need big racks with plenty spaces, these stick out a lot, also hard to maneuver when you plug these 48 port switches side by side. So in reality, these are not practical for server rooms, racks setups etc, more like large panels or behind servers or maybe better for utilizing on couplers. I don't see this coming in handy or become future standard unless every patch panel and switch manufacturer re-design their equipment.otherwise, it is robust!

These kits make terminating the cable super easy. However, they are somewhat unnecessary. There are few if any 40Gb/s RJ48 ports out there. Most equipment with 40Gb/s are using fiber or DAC. But hey, they look cool I guess. The metal is thin and while I didn't experience any issues like another reviewer did, I can see it happening. On the positives, it's easy to use, includes the required copper tape to bond the shield/drainwire to the connector, and once it's put together it should work fine.Again though, it's just not necessary for 99.99999% of people.
