This won't cut more than thin-THIN sheet metal, but if you're doing more than a foot or so, I say this money is well worth the convenience of not having to keep snipping with tin shears. With a steady hand and a good drill, this can make really clean and straight cuts.It will have trouble if you're trying to cut across an existing crease in metal, but it can be "helped" along if you're careful.

I figured I’d give it a try and I’m happily impressed that it works and does the job faster than my nibbler and using tin snips by hand. I’m not sure how long the blades will last and it does require some practice and you still have to deal with the floppy bit of metal as it separates, so planning ahead and cutting from the right side is imporrant, but it gives me much more control over the cut and I can make significant turns without messing things up.Overall I’m happy with it. It’s not the end all be all metal cutting tool, but it is an important bit of kit that will work well in many circumstances.

Does not cut clean. Doesn’t fit drill well at all. Useless for my job.

Occasionally I have to cut up sheets of galnvanized metal for drip edges, flashing etc.Not often enough to justify a good power nibbler, or shears, but still enough to be kind of a chore to use either my aircraft snips (hard to operate), or old fashioned tin snips (from 30 years ago, but still sharp).Aside from really poor 'instructions', and going down the wrong rabbit hole for assembling it (apparently it comes with adaptors for various drill drivers?), I'm quite happy with this kit.I used this on an older style Milwaukee M12 drill driver (similar to that pictured in the first set of pictures), and once I realized it just needed the stabilizing 'hook/rod' installed to keep it straight, it was very straighforward, and easy to use.Best yet, it cuts really straight lines QUICKLY, and leaves them with 'crenelated' edges - kind of like a saw blade. For most uses, I think this edge treatment is enough of an edge treatment to no longer need to file the edges down (but these still are kind of sharp, like a saw blade).Really, a nicely made, occasional use, product I'll enjoy pulling out when needed. The box it somes in is perfect for storing, too.And inexpensive....instructions could be a LOT clearer, though.

Lately I have had to cut a lot of aluminum. I have been using snippers. I can do it, but I have to deal with bent aluminum and many uneven edges. I thought this cutter would solve my problems and make it much easier for me. This cutter is a great idea, and the cutter itself is made solidly. If I had all of the parts I think it would have worked well. I was missing a handle. The harness for the metal support rod did not fit on my drill handle. The parts I received did not match those described in the included instructions. I was able to try and stabilize the cutter by holding tight on the metal support, but I was not able to stabilize it enough to cut more than a couple of inches. For those inches it cut great. It was such an ordeal, though, that I went back to my snips. I may have received a transitional model, but this is mostly useless to me. If workable, the $25 price tag is much lower than what I would expect to pay.
