These planner knives fit perfectly on my Makita planner. Tungsten carbide should hold up well even when generating a little heat. For the price there is no need to try and sharpen your old knives. These are super sharp out of the package and appear to be of the quality as the knives that came new with my planner.

I picked these up as replacements for my Ryobi battery powered hand planer. I replaced the "very" dull blades with one set of these then did some tests. The fit was perfect, and the "from the factory sharpness" was really good.I had some pieces of figured wood laying around so that's what I used for my tests. Going against the grain resulted in normal tear out that just about any planer would have. Going with the grain resulted in a really nice surface. Again, what I would expect from any good blade. For around $9 per set I believe this is a great value.Hope this helps!

To install the blind spot mirrors I recently purchase, I had to scrape off the old adhesive from my side mirrors.Imagine my annoyance when I realized I didn't have any straight razors to get the gunk off. Staribs razor to the rescue. Kind of. These items are really meant for much heavy wood working, and not razors for scraping. Yet, I purposed picked these up because they are thicker, which makes holding much easier. And sure enough! They scrape the gunk off nicely.In terms of planer work, not sure the quality of the item would be sufficient, as it appears to get dull quite quickly(i.e. does not hold an edge well). As a utility razor, though, it gets top marks!SummaryInstructions N/A And a good thing. I certainly did not use as intended!Features Worked 4 out of 5 Metal does not hold an edge well. Excellent as utility razor.Durability 4 out of 5 Dulls quickly. These are a direct replacement on my planer - an exact fit. I didn't realize how full my old ones were until I replaced them with these. The blade is sharp and the angle is perfect. The thickness of the blade material is appropriate for my equipment. It removes material without digging too far in to the wood.I found that I didn't even have to do much adjustment because I marked the location of the old blades before I removed them and put the new ones directly in their place. I used the existing fastening.

I went with the recommended for 3.25” handheld planers and did have a model match for my Dewalt besides. It fits. Extremely sharp and is made of tungsten carbide and thick, this will be a very durable and long lasting blade. The price is a big plus because it is way less than you'd pay for an OEM blade with the same quality. Functions well like my old blade. Recommended.
