Summary: I have been doing amateur tree clearing, and once in a while I need to get up about 10-15 feet in a tree to drop a branch or something similar. In those instances, have a flip-line would be an extra piece of necessary safety equipment. I have looked at flip-lines for a while, but haven't found the need to buy one. Instead, I will be doing a Vine review for this item.Observations: A flip line consists of three main parts: the line, the quick release attachment point (similar but not the same as a carabiner), and the length adjuster (e.g. the rope grab device). Flip-lines are typically 6-15 feet, but this one does not state the length. For climbing rated equipment, there are many applicable standards, but none are listed on the product details. Conclusion: At $63, rating this 1-star, just too much missing information to make an adequate assessment on whether this gear is safe. When it comes to safety, what is your life worth?

Disclaimer, all of my climbing experience comes from being a Lineman at our local utility. When climbing poles you don’t have to deal with branches, sap or any of the other nuances associated with trees. But lately I’ve been looking at a few trees on my property that I want to take down, and while a Lineman’s climbing belt is perfect for poles, it really isn’t the best choice for climbing trees. So I thought I would give this product from SPYMINNPOO a try, as I hope it will meet my needs. So without completely repeating the description available online, let’s look at a few of its key features. The rope is 12 mm in diameter. It is what I refer to as a textile rope versus wire core rope. Besides the rope, you also get a carabiner and rope grab. Both of those devices operated smoothly. There are eyes sewn into each end of the rope and the sewn portions are covered for protection. A portion of the rope is covered in a protective sleeve to protect against pitch (nasty stuff) and abrasions. There appears to be different ways this rope and grabber can be utilized, so I’m not going to get into them. Besides there are several YouTube videos available that do a better job than I ever could.I believe this rope, carabiner and rope grabber to be a quality product. And it can be built upon, to meet your particular needs and climbing style. Bottom line is, the price of this product is a small price to pay for keeping me from falling out of a tree.
