Had to replace my old cuisanart after a decade of heavy use. Can’t wait to write another positive review in another ten years.

I had previously owned a Cuisinart food processor that I used all the time. After years of it being a stellar work horse, it died. I decided to upgrade to a larger size. The reviews on this convinced me to go all out for the larger size at $200, since my old one had always felt a little small.I’ve had this thing for almost two years and am about to throw it out, so felt it was time to share a review. It’s heavy to lift and move if you don’t have a permanent place for it sitting out in your kitchen. Getting it out from a storage cabinet was very cumbersome. That alone was a huge detractor from using it. The biggest issue, however, is the lid. The lid is VERY difficult to snap securely onto the main compartment. Twice I (or my husband) couldn’t get it to snap on at all, and ended up having to take everything out and batch blend with an immersion blender. A really messy job! And not something I should have to do with this expensive FP laying around. As far as performance, it was fine when I could get it working. But anything special or different than other food processors? Nope.About a month ago, one of the pieces on the lid that should securely snap the lid on broke off after being cleaned. It wasn’t forced in any way. Just cheap, flimsy plastic parts. I HATE that this thing cost so much, got solittle use (because it was cumbersome and slightly defective), and then broke. I probably got less than 10 uses out of it. UGH. But honestly, I’m looking forward to getting something that functions with a lot more ease.

I’ve had this over a month now and I really love it. As the title reads, I got this for nut butter and it’s amazing!!!! I don’t feel bad at all for leaving it on extended periods of time cause it can take it.My next conquest will be pesto and homemade butter. It’s a beautiful piece to have out on the counter (I got the copper color) which is great because this thing is heavy! Definitely not something you would want to have to pull out from under the counter and put away again. I don’t have much counter space, so I’m glad that the footprint on this processor is not very big. The bottom also seems to suction cup to the counter (there aren’t any suction cups, it’s just the weight that holds down the rubber feet) so it’s very sturdy, and won’t wobble or move when in use.My dishwasher takes care of the mess on the blades and other materials and nothing has dulled or become cloudy. This is a great food processor and a great investment. Highly recommend!

I've had 2 Kitchenaid FP's over the past 35 years and they worked great AND are very accessory-oriented. (I must've had 8 blades and who knows how many accessories!) But I finally got a Cuisinart and boy is it a step up. I got this one on the basis of the Cook's Illustrated's book (it was top-rated), and while not accessory-rich, it is strong, responsive, fast. and quickly becoming a kitchen essential. It came with just the blade, a slicer, and a grater, but I don't think it needs any more! I also had trouble deciding on the large size, but that turned out fine too! With only 2 of us I had gotten used to chopping but slowly I'm leaning more toward the FP. All in all, I couldn't be happier.
