My favorite part of this blender is the size, not too small, and not too large. The motor is so much more powerful than similar basic blenders and the 36-ounce capacity is a perfect size if you are making one drink or multiple. This is not a do-it-all type of blender as it only has one speed, but 90% of what I do in a blender only needs one speed. The blades are sharp to cut through frozen fruit and also perfect for a blender hollandaise. It is lightweight and easy to store in our cabinets.

I was surprised when my new Cuisinart blender arrived to find that it came with a plastic pitcher, and that it only has a single on-off button. I was expecting a traditional glass blender, which I mentally associate with higher quality. But in reality, that's the piece that is easy to drop and chip / break. So good quality plastic is fine for me, except it won't fit in the top rack of my dishwasher where the manufacturer says it is safe (so I run it in the bottom rack and turn the dryer off). I really like the compact design - it fits under my cupboards with the top in place - and it holds a really large capacity (36 oz, which is generous for a blender).Testing this, it has a strong motor that is more powerful than the popular Ninja blenders. Like others have mentioned, food doesn't get caught in the blender blades with the Cuisinart. But with a single on-off button, I'm hesitant to use this for things that I want blended but not pulverized, albeit there is a pulse function if you want to manually engage the power. This blender is headed to our vacation home where we mostly make smoothies and blended drinks. It will be perfect for there.

This is a good midsize blender. Our actual primary concern with most kitchen gadgets is storage space. This isn't the super small size of a bullet blender, but it has the power of a full size blender, but can be stored in less space than a standard blender when it isn't being used. It actually fits in the cabinet above our cooktop, while sitting on its base. Our regular blendor fit in the same area, but the base and the blender had to be seperated and stored side by side because of the height, meaning that it actually takes up about half the space to store it that our old blender did, but can still do everything we need it to do.Also, as we are now empty nesters, it has plenty of capactiy for us.I could see it being great for anyone with space considerations for storage, like a dorm, small apartment, or a camper, or anything like that. So unlike a lot of people who seem to be moving up to it from their personal bullet blenders, we are moving down to it from our big cumbersome full size blender now that our kids have left the nest. Question will be if we have to get another one once they see it, because I expect it would be great for them too in their small loft or one bedroom apartments compared to their tiny bullet blenders they used in their dorms.I also really like the base. In my opinion, it is actually a strong argument for not having the glass jar many people seem to be complaining about. Blenders of old were basically shapped like funnels to direct the contents down into the blades, The base would sit down in a a pocket to engage with the motor. When you would take it out and sit it on the counter, it would make the whole thing kind of top heavy and tipsy. To solve this problem, they added bases, plastic bases. My old blender has such a base, but it is also a glass jar. Because of this, to have a stable base, the entire plastic base has to be removable from the glass jar. Because this is plastic, it is able to have the jar and the base be a single piece, and then the blade assembly attaches to it. It is also much lighter than the glass jar making it less bulky and easier to handle. So, I actually think it is an improvement over my glass jar blender, at least for now. I guess time will tell if it holds up over time.

This is a very simple blender. It has a single ON/OFF button but it's very practical for the right user.I would Not suggest this for the average home use because it's fairly light weight and sort of pricey. HOWEVER I would absolutely suggest it to family and friends to send off with kids going to dorms where they can make smoothies and shakes.MY NOTES & OBSERVATIONS========================- Plastic Pitcher - Some will hate this but plastic means that there's no glass shards if it's dropped by a room-mate. (This happens. In fact a roomie of one my kids set off the fire alarm, boiling water, lol)- Enough Power - Our at home blender is a Ninja and this little blender works better making smoothies. The fruit gets caught in the Ninja but not with this Cuisinart.- Is Quieter than our Ninja - one of the things I hate about our ninja blender is that it's painfully loud. This Cusinart blender worked better for smoothies at half the volume.- One Button, No ConfusionSo 4 STARS. It's not the kind of blender I'm used to using but it would be a choice that I think would be good for college students in dorms that let them have small appliances.
