Very good, no plastic in contact w water, not-hot exterior, power light is helpful. It is NOT louder than other kettles, I've had like 10, may be slightly quieter. HOW-EV-ER the auto shutoff when it boils is very slow (I've never seen it shut off, my husband has) which sucks because its billowing steam onto the bottom of my painted cabinets if I walk away from it. THRILLED it does not beep - why do so many of them beep? So bizarre, lets wake the whole house while making tea or coffee. Almost impossible to find one that has no plastic contact AND did not beep. Before realizing one should not have plastic in contact w boiling water, we loved the inexpensive Mueller glass one.

This kettle is very convenient and heats water very quickly, probably just a couple minutes if only making a large single cup of tea. It doesn't take up a huge amount of real estate on the counter, and I think it looks nice too.There are two things that I don't like about it:1) The lever in the back that opens the lid does not open it all the way. To fill it with water you still have to touch it with your hand and open it the rest of the way. That's fine when it's cold but it's not fine when it's still hot.2) On one occasion when water was heated again shortly after the unit had turned off, the automatic shut-off did not function and it stayed on for a long time until I finally turned it off manually. This is not the norm but it does make me nervous, and I don't trust the auto shut-off. We're typically not going to far though if we are heating up water so it's not a deal breaker.

I’m totally hooked on this thing! The reviews are spot on - it’s small, but it’s perfect for two people. And guess what? It’s got plenty of hot water to rehydrate those chilies you love.I’m also a big fan of the sleek design and all the stainless steel. It’s so modern and stylish. And the best part? The lid stays locked in place while you’re filling it, and it’s quieter than a regular water heater.

I received this kettle as a gift, and it was the appliance I didn't know I needed! It works wonderfully, the design itself being sleek and easy to grip and maneuver. It's light and able to be stored away fairly easily. It heats up water quickly with just the flip of a switch, and if you're afraid of leaving it to over-boil, fear not, because it turns itself off after it's finished heating! I think this is a lovely kettle to have on hand, whether you're making water for you tea, cocoa, or ramen noodles!
