This Steinberger designed capo is excellent. It is very light in weight but strong because the frame is stainless steel. It takes a very gentle squeeze on the frame to release the bar, place it on the neck and put it to use. It stores securely behind the nut with a couple turns of the thumbscrew. It releases just as easily and slides up to the fret you wish to use it on and secures easily. The thumb screw adjusts smoothly and yes, it does self center as it claims and does not detune the strings. I’m using this on my mid 1930’s Kalamazoo with a hefty “V” neck. I tried my other Planet Waves capo’s on it as well as my trusty Shubb’s and both caused tuning issues. This D’Addario self centering cradle capo required no extra effort or need to finesse it to keep the guitar in tune. I’m sold and won’t hesitate to get another. I’ve read a few unhappy reviews and have a difficult time understanding why, this design is classic and Steinberger’s take on it is the best I’ve tried.

Very similar to the Paige capo in design but it's twice the price! a little more stylish and, threadwise ,a little more robust (I hope it is ,I wore out my Paige in under two years!)Overpriced but if you want a fancy capo that works well (I prefer this design to the shubb type , pulls more evenly) then why not . I like it ,hope it lasts!....one last thing ,my Paige capo won't expand enough to store behind the nut on my Martin guitar because of the "noggin / heal"? but this one expands enough to sit better above the nut when not in use and it's easier to fit and remove as the Paige is VERY fiddly especially in poor light ,which is usual when performing.

Deluso.
