I like the Dell Dock 19S and have about 30 at work and two at home. Make sure you buy these from a reliable seller. This one was no problem, but I got taken last year purchesing one from a greymarket vendor on Amazon.

To be honest I struggled with this. It quickly became apparent I was not alone: loads of people having problems all over the web. I am not surprised many give up and return them. I persevered for days, before it came good. And now it is reliably fine, because I've learned what works and what doesn't, and nowhere is this written down by Dell or anyone else.It's not completely clear from the item description but it does come complete with a 180w mains Dell power supply. This is identical and interchangeable with the supply that came with my Dell Precision laptop, so now I have two. IME it's a really good idea to have a spare. A new PSU is about £90, so its inclusion makes the dock much better value than it appears.You are probably thinking 'right, I'll plug in the PSU and plug the dock into the computer'. DON'T! I did and wasted hours trying to figure out why the dock wouldn't connect. Plug and Play just sits there 'bonging' repeatedly and failing to connect.At this point: disconnect the dock and do everything possible to update Windows, drivers and BIOS to the latest versions. Dell Command|Update will help with the latter two.Any time the dock fails to connect the ONLY way to sort it out is:1. Unpower and Reset the dockRemove the TB connector from the computer, and the power cable from the supplied PSU. Press the dock button for 30 sec. Then reconnect the cables. You'll see the dock LED flash briefly and hear the dock fan spin up for a second.2. Shut down the computer. That is 'Shut Down', not 'Sleep', not 'Hibernate'. You want it to power off completely so it does a full POST boot and sees the Dock and configures the BIOS.3. Connect the dock via its tethered USB-c/Thunderbolt cable. Keep an eye on the USB/Thunderbolt plug. The plug LED will be Off at this point.4. Turn on the computer. You can enter the BIOS if you wish (typically press F2 repeatedly during boot), and configure various options for the Dock. I have the dock plugged in to Gigabit ethernet via cable, and the BIOS is set to disable wifi whilst the Dock is connected.5. If all has gone well, the USB/Thunderbolt LED will come on and stay on, once boot has completed and Windows loads. You now have a working Dock.6. Now run Dell Command|Assist again. It may wish to upgrade the Dock Firmware. Do it!Now those limitations, found out the hard way:You can un-dock the laptop during normal use, or during sleep, and generally it will work when plugged in. But if the PC hibernates, whether plugged in or not, it's unlikely to.THE ONLY SAFE AND RELIABLE WAY TO UNDOCK OR DOCK the laptop is to shut it down before removing or replacing the Dock. Anything else is likely to confuse the BIOS, and result in the endless 'bonging' of Plug and Play trying to figure out what to do with a USB connection it can't make sense of. It seems to me that while USB is Plug and Play, Thunderbolt 4 is not. Screw that up and you have to repeat the steps 1-5 again.There may be more to say. 3 days into trying to get this working with no success, with a new, s/h laptop (Dell Precision 6750), I began to suspect from other problems that the Windows 10 installation was a bit unwell. I did a fresh install of Win10 c/o Dell Support Assist software (Google it - free from Dell and very useful). Only after that did I get anywhere with the WD19s, and was able to then reinstate all my software and files. I'm very happy with it now :-)
