The 8L tank only has a capacity of 5.5L. No idea how they get "8L".

The tank is advertised as having a capacity of 8 liters, is not true !I measured and it can hold only 5 liters !Also the lid vent ( little hole in the lid ) does not work since it is plugged on the inside of the lid. It suppose to have a check valve in it as well so the fuel fumes can't escape and air can go inside the tank.If you use the tank with a not functioning breather valve, your diesel heater will not get fuel after a running a while since no air can get into the tank creating a vacuum inside and the fuel flow will stop.I have several diesel heaters and all the tank valves on those are working.This tank lid is just bad and cheep manufacturing and false advertising on the tank capacity.

While it seems like a sturdy tank, it's not much bigger than the tank that I had in my diesel heater to begin with. My issue was that I was running out of fuel during the night and I was looking for something bigger. This thing is not as advertised and does not hold 2.11 gallons. It takes me almost four tanks to empty a 5 gallon can.
