We live in a rural area and don’t have access to natural gas so we have to use propane. I’m used to working with natural gas using iron pipes and thread sealer which rarely leaked. With our propane it’s copper tubing and a bunch of brass fittings. Since propane uses a higher pressure than natural gas its copper tubing can be more inclined to leaks. This tester is a blessing because I now have a way to verify that there are no leaks inside my house. It’s very easy to use and I tested all of my connections and all were good. Just to make sure it was working properly I tested it on the gas stove without it being lit and it immediately picked up the gas. I then went outside where we have our propane tank. It’s an older tank and while a leak outside isn’t as dangerous as one inside it can be very expensive. I now feel way more comfortable knowing that there are no leaks anywhere.

It's small, it come with batteries and the display is very easy to read. I use a propane heater in my workshop and a gas leak would be very bad indeed. I got this to test all the connections as I keep swapping out propane tanks and really really want to make sure all the connections are tight. This warms up and then tells you it's ready to roll. I took the tank and heater outside and loosened the connection and sure enough the meter picked it up. The alarm is not as loud as I would like but then again, I mean you're holding it in your hand and looking at it. The flexible hose is good but most of my checking is rather straight. For under $30, it's a no-brainer of a purchase. I also like the small case to keep it in, there is a pocket for the instructions and a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment.Overall: yeah, just get one

I'm super happy with my new natural gas detector from intendvision. I was very surprised by the price, expecting these to be considerably more expensive. Once it arrived, it only took 1 minute to get it setup and I was ready to start sniffing for gas leaks! I worried I had a very minor leak in my house, but couldn't be certain. Honestly, after learning how easy these are to use and cheap to own, I think everyone should have one of these in their house just for peace of mind. It's much better to be safe than sorry..The leak detector takes just 30 seconds to power on and get warmed up and then it's ready to go. I turned on my gas stove and could detect gas from a little ways away. It lights up clearly and lets me know there is definitely a gas leak. Additionally, it also has a gauge with min/max recorder, so you can look at the historical graph while in use.

I bought this after a gas leak scare. It turned out to be my dog's smelly farts, but in the middle of the night when you have no way to double check it can be nerve wracking. It's nice to know that if I ever smell gas in my house again, I can easily check to see if it's a leak or a dog, which brings me peace of mind.
