Of course when your expensive Dewalt double miter sliding saw falls off it's base onto the ground, it's always going to fall on the handle and break it. Duh. It didn't render the saw useless but it did make it more difficult to easily bring down the blade. I bought this replacement which fit my DW18 saw. The only thing I would recommend is once you take off the top plate of the old handle, take a picture of the wiring diagram so you'll know where everything goes upon reinstallation. Overall good product.
