It does seem to work well. On floors and carpets. The longer hose is better than others. It is very plastic and seems to be a thinner type. Will see how long it lasts. For the price not bad.

TL;DR - It giv de GUD SUC.FV - After using an old bag-style vacuum cleaner for years, I wanted to try something new. This is my first time purchasing a vacuum myself (last one was a hand-me-down from my parents). I had a feeling my old vacuum just wasn't sucking like it used to, and also wanted a bagless option to cut down on the cost of refills. It was $65 when I bought it, which was only slightly higher than the cheapest models available. I expected it would be good, but not great.Holy hell, was I surprised with the results.I have cats. Three cats, to be exact. They shed like crazy. So does my girlfriend, who has very long hair. My girlfriend also loves wearing comfy sweatpants that shed those tiny little fuzzy spots everywhere. She's also really bad about getting crumbs everywhere when she eats. In short, I had my work cut out for me when it was time to vacuum every couple weeks. The old vacuum usually left stuff behind, and there was fur that looked like it was pretty deeply embedded into the carpets. I was hoping that this new one would at least get the surface stuff. This $65 demon exceeded my expectations by a wide margin. It sucked the crumbs. It sucked the hair. It sucked the fuzzies. It sucked the fur, even the fur that was pressed deep into the carpet fiber. It sucked the dust. It damn near sucked the color right out of the carpet (which, after my first two vacuuming sessions, I can recognize as being white instead of gray). In short, it will suck everything you put underneath it, or die trying.Which brings me to the only criticism I have about this vacuum: the motor gets HOT. Probably because of how furiously it tries to suck the very fabric of reality into its ravenous gullet. Be kind to this vacuum and give it a couple minutes of "off" time every 10 minutes or so you spend vacuuming, and it will probably never fail you.On that note, maintenance is a breeze. I've been able to empty the dust container every time without incident, thanks to its idiot-proof design. Removing the various parts and filters for cleaning is not terribly difficult, though you do sometimes need to use a LITTLE force. My hope is that, years from now, I'll continue to look upon this Dust Devil the all the awe and respect with which I look at a killer whale. And that it will continue to function as efficiently in its duty as those horrific marine predators function in murdering all the sea life they come across.

When my old vacuum cleaner needed to be replaced, I saw this Dirt Devil Endura and thought based on the reviews, it would be what I need. I do not have pets, and have a smallish apartment, so I wasn't too concerned about the ability to remove pet hair. I am going to guess that based on the suction this machine has, it could handle pet hair. I was kind of surprised by the powerful suction when I first turned it on. I have used it on hard wood floors, tile and carpets, and it does a very good job. It is lightweight which is a plus in my book. The cons I found with it is that the power cord is short, 20 feet, so I have to stop and plug it in each time I go to another room. It is quite loud...no vacuuming late at night if need be for fear of waking up the neighbors. When you use the extended wand, you have to hold the vacuum unit or it will tip over.Overall, I am pleased with it. Not having pets or kids, I don't have to vacuum a lot, so the cons are nothing I can't live with. The power of the suction and ability to clean make up for the shortcomings in my book.

As a carpet upright it gets an A+As a bare floor vacuum it gets an FWhen I saw how small this vacuum was when I opened the box I was a little nervous. Our old upright was a 25-year-old Kenmore that was huge and heavy. The second I plugged in our new Dirt Devil Upright and gave it a spin on our carpet, I knew that it was going to extract ALL of the dirt and pet hair out of our carpets!!!! The thing sounds like a jet engine and cleans carpets like crazy. I could not believe the amount of dirt and dog hair in the see-through canister after using it for just one minute. It is easy to maneuver, lightweight and has amazing suction that REALLY packs a punch. The disappointment comes with trying to clean bare floors with it and when trying to maneuver attachments around to get cobwebs near the ceiling. The plastic hose attachments don’t stay snug and are very awkward and bulky to maneuver, a real arm killer too. There is also a brush that extends from a crevice tool that is the wrong angle and the cleaning bristles on it are too short. I’m actually so thrilled with the way it vacuums the carpets that I am going to keep it in spite of the poorly-designed attachments and it’s inability to clean bare floors because the agitator brush is always on. I am so used to using a shop vac for superior cleaning with attachments, I will just continue to use it. This upright vacuum does an amazing job extracting dirt and dog hair from carpets virtually effortlessly. Would definitely recommend as an upright carpet vacuum only.
